Yup. After my first nom was rejected I had time to go on a bit of a rabbit hole search and I still came up empty. Found some interesting stuff just not really what I want to nom.

I had two cracks rejected. After scouring the 10000+ songs on my Tidal playlists I couldn't find a song/artist with the 5 words in them (well I had Paradise Circus by Massive Attack but that's already won and wouldn't be accepted anyway). I'm not nominating a comedian like Adam Sandler either. I searched Pitchfork for bands with joke, clown, jester, etc in their name but options were limited and unappealing.

I'll keep trying but it looks likely I won't be able to find a song.

Edit - 10000 was an exaggeration, it's 7311 songs.

My first nom also got rejected. I did end up finding an interesting banger in the end. Turned out i wasnt allowed to link an artist to a comedian by name.

My original nom was rejected because clowns/jesters/funny people aren't necessarily happy. It wasn't rejected for not containing the appropriate word. Makes me think GC was just as confused about what he wanted out of this theme as the rest of us.

Hope Grey Crow is ok! As Purple said, the contest is meant to be fun, and some of his responses in our PM suggest that wasn't the case.

Agreed. I think sometimes i get worked up in the SC and realize i just need to chill.
Id like to know for sure GC still in first. Sc can get frustrating with all the messages and accepting rejecting noms. Arguments and disagreements.

If not in we agree on a quick theme and whoever here wants to take it can.
