Roast St Kilda in no mans land

A weeks a long time in footy. I can’t see the saints losing another game.

You’d hate to be a Geelong supporter who told us how good Chris Scott is and how poor a coach RTB is.

Master coach Chris Scott has been brained by RTB tonight.

Isn't this exactly what no man's land is though? Get pumped one week and then win the next this stuck in the middle or no man's land. Not bad enough to get pick 1-3 but not good enough to win a flag.
Correct

Middle table no mans land

We are on track for 10k posts and a part 2 thread at this rate

Who says you need it?

Collingwood won the flag 2 years ago- how many pick 1-3's did they have?

Hawthorn are current premiership favourites- how many do they have?
Those are big clubs that can attract quality talent via trades and free agency to avoid bottoming out

When St Kilda was good 2007-2009 we attracted plenty of players. Dempster, Schneider, Gardiner etc

Melbourne got some when they were headed up- May, Lever etc

If you build a strong culture and look headed for success, they will come.

Reality is, odds are stacked against St Kilda, we all know that. No Marvel tenant has won a flag in over 20 years except the fairytale Dogs. (Essendon, Carlton, Saints, North, Dogs).

But Saints are in a better position with better young players than any other time in the last 15 years. If they keep developing, others will want to join them.

Not exactly star players in their prime…

🤔Delisted's Deep Dive! 🙃

Well well well. Some posters have egg on their face tonight don't they? From Neutrals stating 'this will be a belting' to the Geelong fellowship being extremely confident.

Not me though.
The saints will win this.
Before the game even started I felt it. I felt it in the pit of my stomach. Like a sixth sense, a proud Hawthorn enjoyer is drawn to a Geelong loss.

But Delisted how did you see this coming? Well my friends 2 reasons.

1. Science. Geelong simply cannot play on a field that's more narrow than a doorway. GMHBA is basically an hour glass.

2. Pure Heart. People will talk about the class of NWM or Higgins etc, but god damn not many teams in the league have a Lion like Zak Jones. What a game he played. He just couldn't be stopped. Was a beautiful thing.

Keeler. Wow. On his last legs all night but just kept persisting. Wilkie anyone? No? How about a warm glass of Jack ****ing Mcrae. Dogs said no and Saints said yes.

I'm not going to go into stats today or the game plan because today was more than that. Today was about being Australian. A proud Australian.. Heck, today was about the Saints.

Dempster and Gardiner were All Australians - Gardiner with West Coast, Dempster with St Kilda

May and Lever too

So yeah, they were stars

And I can think of a few AFL teams who would love prime Schneider right now.

About 18 of them....
Well yeah I’m referring to when you got them they weren’t star players in their prime

They were role players

And in gardiners case past his prime
