My wife asked me tonight if supporting the Saints was actually worth it. Honestly I don't know if it is.

It's not.

You know it's not when on days like this you're considering that Dermott is a footy brain for uttering "Saints won't win because they're the Saints" and he might actually be on to something.

Derm.
Peacock bleach blonde botox Derm.

But yet again, the Australian public watching a game of footy, something being attached to that game of footy to make it slightly more marketable than a regular game of footy.

And we shit the bed.

Like we've shit the bed before.

It's not worth it to support the club, I'm not using my reserved seat because I have NFI if what I'll see will match the physical pain for when I return home.

It's worth it when the people attached show that they actually give a shit about what happens on that field, because based on that half that I was able to see and the plethora of people who looked at an oval shaped ball and went "how the hell do I use this?" and how North were pretty much doing as they pleased and we were very lucky they were shit in conversion skills, the answer today was that they gave no shits.

You're not a Freo supporter.

Fans of all clubs have had these moments; North in 2013 with all the close losses made me Plugger35 level mad. For the sake of your club and small clubs like yours, Dogs, Melbourne and North, you just have to stick it out. Footy is a funny game and you can turnaround in no time and defy the traditional norms and conventions. Losses like this can make or break your side, so at least you can take comfort in that knowledge and go from there, whether that involves moving on the coach or that a poor performance is merely a blimp on the radar and not truly indicative of five years of poor rebuilding.[/QUOTE]

Following the Saints is like being in a disfunctional relationship with a junky who bangs all your mates. You think she’s straightening out then she goes and Hocks all your shit down at cash converters. This club is some kind of heartbreaking cursed monstrosity. They cause pain and offer nothing back. Once we could look at Lockett or Harves and know we had something to hang our hat on. Now we are an insipid piss weak bunch of pretenders who are more interested in the afl lifestyle than performance.

I know I speak for us all when I say "we've all been there".

I'm over feeling sick now. Still pretty angry.
Anyway, a few of you calling for Clark to be dropped.
He got done holding the ball a few times today. Same thing with Gresham in his first year or so.
1. They have to play ones to get up to speed.
2. We need to send a message that crap ball use and decision making won't be tolerated. That means both Clark and Coff should play.

Another guys wanting to axe Long, maybe out of habit. IMO he was almost our best today. Having said that Lawrence Bingham might have made our best today had he been available.

Anyway, Blues are playing their kids. Theirs are better than ours IMO, but we need to back ours in. Happy to see Langlands and Paton whenever they're up for it. Paddy the exception. You drop marks and get 25 metre spoils against you all afternoon, you play 2s. Pretty simple. Couldn't care less about delivery to him or his endurance, that was rubbish. Good excuse to either go with the 2 talls (yeah I know Membrey's not that tall) or go with Marshall/Hickey combo.

Including JLT we have played 4 games, and only won 4 quarters shit really

The only positive today was that if we'd played Adelaide we would have lost by 400 plus points. If North weren'tshit too we could have ben humiliated properly. I reckon we will be luck to get 5000 to next weeks game. My wife came to her first game for a couple of years and she couldn't believe how bad we'd got since then. We aren't moving forward,

We should have now permanently damaged Hunter Clark mentally too. The biggest disappointment to me was Billings, he was squibbing the contests and running away from the play at times, he was like Jamie Cripps with a dumber hair cut. I thought these guys were going to carry us, instead we are having to carry them. Soft footballer with lots of skill and no heart, he sleeps with the light on. He's your Jack Watts, Paddy is our Richard Tambling and we traded high picks for Longer and Hickey. Both are barely AFL standard...well not AFL standard. I would keep Acres and Gresham and start again. Pretty much Melbourne before they started to ge it right.

Everyone venting and fair enough. You are entitled to it 100%

Plenty of time to correct the ship but losing faith.

Clutching at straws but games like today may be a catalyst... But doubt it.

If they keep putting Hunter in he'll be broken with in a year. How does any of that help him develop. We haven't got enough senior talent to carry the young kids.

Have followed this club for over 50 years and rarely have I been as pissed off by a performance as today.
Incipid softcocks!

A watershed day in our history!

I bloody hope everyone at the club reads this thread.

I ****ing hate this shit club, I hope we sack everyone involved then burn all their houses down and castrate them for good measure.

Nah he's fine. Stick him on a flank or in a pocket if it gets tough. If you mean emotionally broken, then yeah...maybe!

Something isn’t right.

Haven’t seen so many players in one team fumble the ball, miss 2m handballs, miss 15m kicks or bomb the thing as far as You can without looking, p*** weak tackles.

I have no doubt Webster is a decent defender but Christ, with ball in hand it’s more than likely gonna land in an opposition players hands or someone in the crowd.

Newnes, one of those players who doesn’t look before kicking and just bombs away.

Not sure what the f*** is up with Membrey, but he just looks shocking right now. 2 years ago he couldn’t miss, and now he’d be lucky to kick 1 in 10. Someone of his field kicking was appalling too.

Sincs and Steele being played out of position is so f****** frustrating.

I think Paddy will be a good player, just no confidence ATM. A few dropped marks, some quite easy too. Usually a good kick for goal too, but that’s disappeared.

Longer, need I say more?

And lastly, Richo. What on earth is the f****** game plan? The players obviously don’t know it. Chip one way, then back the other, then down the line to a 3 on 1. Or on the rare occasion we actually break through, instead of kicking it to a lead, just bomb the bloody thing on someone’s head who is outnumbered. EMBARRASSING. Never been so infuriated. Was ready to leave at Half Time. Take some f****** responsibility for once and call it for what is it, A ****ING P*** WEAK DISGRACE

Thank god for Carlisle today, would’ve lost by 100+ without him.

Pretty funny

I find this disgracefull behaviour. Throwing away your membership in March? 2 games in!

And some posters saying this was the worst performance they've 'ever' seen. EVER! Really? Cmon now, i understand emotions are running high but let's not go over the top here. It"s round 2 ffs. This team will come under fire this week and rightly so. Abandoning all hope at this stage of the season is premature and serves no purpose.

It's how they respond from here that matters. In a way im happy that a putrid performance like that has come so early in the season. Richo and the team can still turn things around, identify and address fundamental flaws in their gameplan. (If they"re capable) Calls for Richo's head after Round 2 are surely jumping the gun, given that most have set the benchmark for him as finals.

In saying that the next 3 weeks will really test the boys. We'll know more about what they're made of after that.

Ross's poor disposal directly cost us scoring opportunities or gave the North players vital inroads to goal. He was a key reason why we couldn't sustain a fightback.

I agree with the rest of your post. How Carlisle didn't make it onto the best list in the match report is a mystery.

We paid our $60 to sit through this shit, up in level 3 you can see how loose JC plays. There were times that Brown and Waite were back in the forward line with neither Brown or Carlisle with in 100 meters of them. You could see we would turn it over and it would come in to them. Geary was massive, he directly pressured them into points or rebounded. He's got a massive amount of pride in his performance. Jake was great with his marking but he's not a good defender. He's like a tall unaccountable Brendan Goddard. He's lucky that North were inaccurate because he only cost us about 20 actual points through his own poor performance.

I hope I am made to regret this...

But this club, this coach and these players are ******.

This coach couldn't any of our boys to get a root at a brothel let alone at football. He is clueless and his structures constantly get destroyed by opposing coaches. He can't see to extract an ounce of consistency other then the ability to consistently let us down. Time to go. NOW!

These players, spineless pricks the bunch of them. No run no chase no heart. All think they are ******* figjam, yet they can't even hit simple targets. Paddy, I've backed you but **** how does someone drop simple chest marks week In and out. JB another let down. Mentally soft

Any midfielder not named Acres or Steven are ******* pathetic.

******* fuming and I feel mentally done right now. Time to check out. I remember sitting there when the pelican did his power point presentation telling us our future I'll be bright. Well I tell you what our future holds? It's another ******* rebuild. It will be watching the likes of Carlton over taking us whilst we toilet away having missed the boat in 09/10 whilst Richo persists with garbage like today.

This club better have the spotlight on them and turned up to the highest settings. Because I will no longer cop it and defend them. They owe us fans so much for what we have endured. Maybe they should apologize for today.

well said stavro

i had written a massive response to it to add to your work there but just got tired of it in the end. basically i was going to write that it starts from the top. it just doesnt have a sharp edge to it, and as ive said numerous ****ing times over the year, the administration is just far too easily moved off the critical path to a flag. they're easily distracted. hell sometimes not even present at all, or busy trying to feather their own nest for their own career development when theyre done with their time here.

but getting back to it. all i would say is what to do people expect. the coach and players are living an amazing life right now. most have long term contracts on big money (remember the 96% TPP trick that meant overpaying a bunch of players). they have no fear of being sacked. i mean how can we? theyre long term contracts, we are in debt 10m and we need to start posting profits. the AFL CEO just put us on notice telling us as such. that coupled with the football dept tax on pay outs and we are pretty much stuck. must be great being someone like richo being able to have a kick with someone like dunstan, feeding off of each others importance of being at an AFL club. they're rock stars.

its just all too easy. that's why you have players going away on international holidays 3 ****ing days out from their first JLT game in what was supposed to be our most important season in 8 seasons. even though they had two big extended breaks in the off-season. they are not the actions of a playing group obsessed with trying to extract every single little ounce of improvement. its the actions of playing group, living an amazing lifestyle thinking of what amazing destination they can spend a long weekend at.

you wonder how many of them would continue with this shit under ross circa 2007-2014. thats players and assistants. plus the leadership group all bought in.

i mean seriously are supporters not sick to ****ing death making excuses for this football club. you've watched two ****ing basket cases go off and win a flag. you know what your excuses got you. a ****ing belting by a bottom 4 side last year thats forecast to win the spoon, on what is arguably our most important game of the year. a RARE ****ING MARQUE GAME.

Can you come up with a worse performance?
I think it might be the worst I've seen, including all non-football performances I've seen.
Even the D-Gen's Comedy Festival performance about traffic lights was marginally better.
