In a way it's been a catalyst for our fans to say enough is enough.

I hope our players, staff, CEO and President are listening loudly.
None of them have any balls .They are all a bunch of yes men. We need a ****ing leader

Brett Ratten.. or if we are fair dinkum. Clarko - just give him a blank cheque and see if he wants to achieve the unachievable. Rumour has it he thinks it's time for something new....
Why do you think we have gone backwards? I.e. think when we beat the doggies a few years ago, geelong etc... Why is it all undone? Did our mega defensive game plan make us look good? Or the player have given up due to perplexing decisions?

I can' believe I' saying this but I'm really thinking of passing on next week. Feel so gutted. Would not be Suprised if Richo stood down if we had 1-2 more games like this.

That would be an amazing putcome, but why would he stand down? Bloke is probably on 600k a year. He will ride it out with the same blank look on his face until he is paid out.

It's only my love for this club that is stopping me from going nuclear as a supporter and walking away for good. This is pathetic and we ALL deserve better .

My wife asked me tonight if supporting the Saints was actually worth it. Honestly I don't know if it is.

We've been close to a flag three, maybe four times in my life (97-98; 04-05; 09-10; maybe also 91-92). Each time we missed out through some combination of poor luck and poor management. Meanwhile relatively unsuccessful clubs like Richmond and the Dogs pop up and win flags. Other historically unsuccessful clubs like Brisbane, Sydney, Geelong put the pieces together and win multiple flags. New clubs like Port and Adelaide have had plenty of success.

This is the fourth time in my lifetime that we've been seriously out of contention. Late 80s, mid 90s, late 90s/early 00s, now. The last few years have been fine, because it's a cycle and you have to go down for a while to come back up. (Unless you're Sydney, Geelong, Hawthorn.) But it's looking pretty likely now that this rebuild has been a bust, that we've got the wrong coach and wrong list. Start again. Again.

And you know what happens? The players cycle through, they might go play elsewhere, either way they get their $400k a year. The coach goes and gets a job somewhere else for similar money. The admin cycle through, go get a job at AFL House or something. The president and board wander back to their business interests.

The only poor ****ers stuck with the club are the everyday supporters. We throw our money at it rather than getting paid for the privilege. We're the ones who have absolutely no say in how it goes, and yet the poor decisions of all these other campaigners effect us personally for years and years and years.

I'm not sure this shit adds anything to my life any more.

Maybe the Sandy coach has more of an idea?

Call bullshit all you like but if you don’t think some players intentionally or unintentionally check out mentally if they don’t believe in what they’re hearing then you’ve got no idea.
Money has absolutely nothing to do with it.
I'm with you here ghost... 200% Richo's game plan has lost some of the players.

It might not be that he is a bad coach (all coaches have strengths and weaknesses) but then you have serious structural flaws to the game plan players start making things up on the spot to try and cover it. Then the wheels fall off.

I played under an awesome very successful senior coach, but one of the assistants put in a very floored defensive plan and once it clicked with the leaders that it just wasn't going to work the team started dishing up piss like we did today.
I thought it watching the game today, effort was gone and we played with absolutely no purpose.

To those who think cash equates to effort then you are kidding yourself. People just don't work like that. If you think that you are smarter tactically then the coach, and the coach is telling you to do something that isn't going to work. You just don't turn up.

Good news is that tonight should wake the coaching staff up to some issues. Get it out on the table, fix the problems and move on with a new plan. Thats what Richmond did....

Richo needs to read

"Strengths Based Leadership"

We'll never get anywhere with a shit game plan AND playing players out of position.

Jesus, we've had since fekn August to come up with what we produced today.
Being there today reminded me of the Tim Watson coaching days it was that bad

Unfortunately a shocking loss like that this early in the season will no doubt make richo reach for safety in Gilbert & Weller rather than getting some games into coffield, battle and white types.
Let's try and find a future FB out of Austin/Goddard/clav instead of pumping more games into an admirable, but aging brown.

What today should do is have us plastered on every website and spoken about on every level of media.

Highlight how poor we are, set fire to Richo and how pathetic he and his merry men are.

Roast the likes of Roberton Ross Billings etc. Enough is enough

We all want sucess for our long starved club.

I hope after todays effort people that matter at the club start to realise there are and has been for sometime significant short comings with our head Coach and his coaching team.

The last thing I want to see was another Saints coach go as Richo has been great for the clubs stability. However over the past 18 months there has been plenty of evidence of a football club being poorly trained and coached. Consequently I began expressing my criticism of Richo's coaching which brought the disdain of some other forumites.

I wanted to see the Saints & Richo suceed, hence I then suggested that we change some of his assistants to put more tactically adept personnel around him - again that was ridiculed.

Today was a water shed moment for Richo and the team because the players stopped believing, it was there for all to see. Now what does the club do after he was given a 2 year extension as they cant afford to pay him out?

Hopefully Richo is man enough to do some real soul searching, accepts the responsibility, changes things and turns their form around because replacing him is now out of the question. Otherwise we are farked and will be for sometime.

Lets face it, Richo has thrived on turnover rebounds and over the back football for 2 years.

Slow build up attacking football has never existed in that time. Back then we blamed execution but 2 years on its the same style of slow play when the opposition is set in defense. It just doesn't work. If i have to see another camera shot of whats forward of our players after a mark at half back I'll puke, about 10 players in the shot, about 6 just standing in a pack on the boundary seemingly uninterested and the others matched up on making 10 step leads and then giving up and peeling off.
Kick to pack, lose it or the ball spills over the back and we run on into forward 50 (not really a planned tactic) OR Switch to other side, repeat. Sometimes we get lucky if the mob don't switch sides of the ground fast enough and we get a player in space.
