we'll need to play better than last week
that said, saints played almost the perfect half on Saturday, so i wouldn't expect them to play that well again

on paper, we can win. i think our forwardline will put a bit of pressure on their backline. would love to see a Joe vs Jake matchup...
will be decided in the midfield. will be a close game, but one we must win

Should be some good marking contests with all of JD, Hooksy and Carlisle in the same 50m arc

If Jake were to play on JD I think he would get burnt on the lead, he's much better suited to Hooker and in all honesty should have him covered.

Need the mids to fire this week, otherwise it wont matter who he plays on.

Damn, this is a huge game for us.
Our backline is a bit short if Membrey plays.

No way he plays after that hit. Forearm to the head. Reckless at best, high contact, high impact. Gonesky.

Tipped the saints and JD to kick three. On last night's form they'll be hard to stop. Having said that our best form is pretty hard to stop. What amazes me is that our skills this year have looked worse in the pristine conditions of Etihad. Go figure. If we get that right and both midfield's are on then expect a cracker of an attacking game.

Looked ok against wet toast and the puffers.

I hope St Kilda are getting ahead of themselves with the media pumping up their tyres all week.

St Kilda were at their best on Saturday, but they've also put in shit performances like we have. We also pulled apart West Coast and Port at Etihad not long ago. We have to play much better than we did against Collingwood, but I do rate our chances heading into this game. If St Kilda win, I think we'll make them earn it. Both sides are coming from two 6-day breaks so the last term will be very interesting to see.

I can see it be a struggle like our game against Sydney, decided in the last minute.

With the 6 day break it wouldn't surprise me to see Watson have a rest. Even though I thought he was really good on the weekend. So will go with:
Out: Watson, Green
In: Langford, Begley

Baguley Hartley Gleeson
McKenna Hurley McGrath
Zaharakis Myers Goddard
Fantasia Daniher Parish
Stewart Hooker Walla
T Bell Z Merrett Heppell
Langford Kelly Begley Colyer

I reckon a lot of Dons need to lift in the last quarter. Might be easier said than done. Some were really plodding against Pies... Tippa, TBC, Watson, Goddard, Green.

Need to not put these guys in 1 on 1s in last.
Considering it was our highest scoring quarter for the day I thought they looked ok.

Wow. Amazing looking at the team sheet compared 5 years ago. *shudders*

Based on this it'll be minimal changes. Wouldn't be surprised if it's no changes.
I think there are only 5 players who could come in: Leuenberger, Dea, Begley, Langford and Bird, all of whom were rested from the VFL.

If that's all we have to realistically select from for the saints match then if Hartley misses due to injury then Hooker has to play back as Dea would get badly beaten by Josh Bruce in one on one contests.

Taking out an old inside mid for a young inside mid? Not really, no.

Not off a 5 day break for him.

He's far from an inside mid and tbh doubt he'll ever be one. Will be a terrific forward though. Hopefully we'll realise this soon before another club does.

He moves well in traffic, has composure and good vision. Sounds like an inside midfielder to me

Doing this against Ballarat and Coburg is a little different to AFL.
