Very surprised one of Sinclair, Lonie or Billings didn't come in.
They don't owe us any answers on this front, but i'd love to know the selection committees' thought process behind this.
Is anyone making the trek out to Princes Park on Saturday for a VFL report?

Anyone seriously entertaining the thought of Wright tagging Dangerfield needs to think a bit harder about it.
A very defeatist attitude imo.

What's wrong with playing a tagger, especially tagging one of the most, if not the most, in-form midfielders in the competition?

And who would you have down back?

I dunno because I haven't seen much of Sandy this year. I would maybe play Bruce back, but then I would have kept Pierce in and played him fwd/ruck with Roo on the wing. Wright shouldn't play. Just shit selection most weeks with the much loved, undersized and elderly backline. For 3 years now. Selection is just ****ed.

It would be stuffed if they listened to some supporters.

If we are to win the game or even run close we'll need to win the ball from the centre.

Playing a bloke at centre bounces who's never played there in an AFL game is conceding ground before the ball has even been bounced IMO.
However, I haven't got an issue with somebody standing with Dangerfield at any other contest around the ground, but that's just a given.
One of our regular mids with a defencive side to his game (Dunstan) should be lining up next to Dangerfield at centre bounces.

This imo is a game where tough lessons need to and more than likely will be learnt and not a game to play players out of position. Let's let a regular mid learn by doing.

Geeze our tall defenders have been cursed in the past few weeks. Amazing Delaney has gone from just playing out his career in the 2nds to our number 1 tall within a matter of a couple of weeks. It goes without saying that we're gonna have to win the midfield battle well to have any chance in this.

It was un on this forum had Delaney written off.
The club may have still seen value in having him for backup

I'm the first person to have a go at the selection committee. But I actually don't mind this one bit. I for one was not expecting us to beat the blues last game and was pleasantly surprised by the effort shown by all. Yes Wright didn't get much of it, but ran hard chased tackled like a maniac all game.

We all ask for effort every week and some of the players have not be bringing that in Billings, Sinclair, Lonie etc. Having them play only 1 game and then be like yep they have learnt there lesson doesn't cut it. Give them 2 or 3 weeks on shitty grounds with gale winds instead of a closed roof and infront of family and friends.

Can finally say that I agree with the match committee this week.
And I'm the second. And I'm with you. No problems with selection this week. Billings, Sinclair, Lonie all need a serious bash on their sense of entitlement. They've been given a remarkably easy ride into their AFL careers - far easier than others I could name on our list. Wright did his job last week, and did it flipping well.

Go on, name Curran. I know you want to.

I reckon we have to throw Bruce back this week. Have been against this, but we are literally out of options. Gilbert is not a KPD, we have been down this road many times before.

Bruce back still leaves us with a forward line mix of Roo, Paddy & an in form Membrey. Looks pretty good to me.

Wouldn't quite say that Sinclair has been given an easy ride into his afl career.
Had to keep motivated after missing the 2013 draft and fought his way into a rookie spot and then onto the senior list.
Hasn't exactly been gifted games either

Wouldn't surprise me to see Roo go back first and play loose or on Stanley if they get on top early. Reckon we will try and keep Bruce forward as much as possible this year.

I like Curren too but clear as day he isn't a patch on those three.

Me thinks that Adelaide vs Geelong GF is highly likely.

Another shortarse backline (this time due to injury), means that a big loss might be coming up.
