It's been a privilege to hear/watch the majority of Harv's 350 games.

We owed him a big one today. And the guys delivered :thumbsu:

As a Carlton supporter living in Perth, and going to all Eagles home games (long story, don't ask...lol), was very impressed with the respect shown by the crowd today towards the champ. Well done to all that were there. Shame though there's some morons online who have their head stuck up their a*se.

As lovers of football, if you can't acknowledge, appreciate and respect what Robert Harvey has achieved over a glorious career, then there is something seriously wrong. Well done Harvs on a magnificent career and another great game today!

Struggling to find my best mood at present......but good to see the Perth crowd pay proper respect to a champion of the game....despite losing a game they expected to win.

Given the sometimes questionable nature of Eagles fans sportsmanship... which the send off for Rohan Smith did nothing to quell (oh they were only gracious because they won)...today was good to see.

Crowds can be very parochial, but they shouldn't be congratulated for doing the right thing.
It's a privilege to be able to watch footballers of Robert Harvey's calibre.
Their contribution to the sport transcends club colours and it is only right that football fans acknowledge this when it is their turn.

Imagine if everyone buggered off when the Eagles did their lap of honour around the MCG after they won their first flag in 1992?
We as Victorians didn't like to see the flag head west, but we still did the right thing and acknowledged a champion side.

Harvey is one of the all time greats of the game, no question. His peers openly acknowledge that he is a "once in a generation" freak. A magnificent competitor and sportsman, who never stopped trying, who never took his eye off the ball and was just too bloody good.... FOR TWENTY YEARS AND COUNTING!

I also happened to be at Subiaco last September when the West Coast fans showed the greatest of respect to Smith and West and was quite moved by the show of respect. My opinion of West Coast fans rose dramatically that evening. I realise it's probably a massive generalisation, but for me that sums up my feeling towards West Australian football supporters. Extremely passionate, yet knowledgeable and respectful. It certainly is hard to imagine Smith or Harvey getting a reception like that in Adelaide where from my experience the supporters have always gone to extreme lengths to show their hatred towards anything Victorian.

Tremendous player. Well done, and what a career.

Can only hope the Eagles fans keep the spirit going when the great J.Hird arrives there for his last-ever game in Perth later in the year.
Im sure we will. It will be easier to do this if he doesnt whoop us again in the dying moments of the game again though :)

the point is 2 team members with mental issues were dropped like hot potatoes - so much for the family club

at least WCE are trying to deal with cousins health and not offloading to another club

it doesn't make the players' decision right though
Who were the 2 players 'dropped like hot potatoes'??????
