It looks like both hoops were attached, though.

I don't think so.
Look at the front three. The arms definitely have a gap.
And I'd say those three all have a gap between the Red and White band.

Ahh yeah, didn't notice that.

If you didn't know better, it looks like Ken Eustice (the coach) is checking his phone.
How would you be, the first ever official team photo of the club, and the coach is texting.

PS The jumpers were given to them by Footscray VFL club.

looking for photos of SANFL jumpers from the past. does anyone have the following:
1: woodville and west torrens jumper from 1938
2: sturt and north heritage jumper from 2005
3: jumpers from 1915.
timmy

Hello Timmy,

I would be glad to do some small research for you and see what I could find. Without doing any, I'm fairly certain that West Torrens wore blue and yellow stripes in much the same fashion as Collingwood's, Hawthorn's or North Melbourne's jumper around the era of 1938. I'm also somewhat certain that Woodvile wore a yellow based jumper with a green yoke around that era as well, although they may have worn a singular green hoop at that time.

Yours truly,

Stormy.

I hope you don't mean to find a club jumper as the Woodville and West Torrens merger?

Because they didn't merge until 1990.

Hello Ando,

I think he knows they were separate entities prior to 1990, as he has posted about West Torrens and about Woodville in the past. Additionally, the use of 'and' ("Woodville and West Torrens") in this context is fairly unambiguous and the implication is that he wants the separate clubs.

Yours truly,

Stormy.

Dear Stormy,

I am glad that I now know he was not speaking about the amalgamation of the clubs being prior to 1938. Unfortunately for Timmy, I tried hard to find any info on the jumpers, but I did not prevail.

Very sorry,
Andonis.

Hello Andonis,

Were you simply searching for it on Google? That's not the best way to find out. Instead, I'd try a library, seriously.

Stormy.

Hi Stormy,

I was indeed searching on Google, though I will try harder when I get the chance.

Love Andonis.

The main issue I see is that, unless stickied, this just won't get used. People will forget or won't realise it exists. But it doesn't deserve a sticky.

Yeah, I know. Any more than like, six stickies just looks messy. I'll just try and keep people aware that this thread's here, and if people post state league stuff in other threads then I'll move it to here.

Forgive me if this is not the right use of the thread, but I've been a big advocate of a new SANFL team in Adelaide's North East, most probably in Tea Tree Gully, within the next 10-20 years. I've just designed a GWS based guernsey for this hypothetical team;

I honestly feel it's a perfect region. It's geographicaly, culturally and demographicaly different to Norwood which is its SANFL team right now,it has heaps of SAAFL clubs within it, its nurtured alot of talented players over the years ( Heath Grundy, Ryan Shoenmakers, Matthew Wright, the Menzal brothers) and the north of Adelaide is one of the fastest growing areas in of the suburbs.

I just can't see it happening without crippling Norwood

Ehhh... I suppose that would have been more relevant a couple of decades ago as the SANFL can barely stay afloat as it is with the clubs it already has. But it's a nice thought, and a nice colour combo. Nice work man :thumbsu:
