I know they mean well but geez they're garish. Claremont and Souths have the best of a bad bunch

Pretty much. I actually think Claremont's is overkill for a footy jumper, but Peel and Swan Districts are just weirdly executed.

Take away the sponsors and some are fine, though – I mean the Dees' is just a red version of Richmond's by the looks. East Perth's is pretty interesting as well, not typically Indigenous but their yoke with the added chevrons looks pretty strong. Old Easts seems alright by the looks as well.

Tasmanian Footy - TSL 2009-13...
R02-13 Kaine Waller.jpg
2013 Lauderdale v North Launceston - both Bombers, so North have this very plain white jumper with the logo. Lauderdale is affiliated with Essendon, so they carry the redesigned Essendon logo on this new jumper for 2013. North have a unique Bomber emblem (a better one)...
R07-11 Launceston\'s Majak Miar is about to get nabbed by Lauderdale\'s Alex Hevey.jpg
2011 Launceston v Lauderdale - Lauderdale's previous Bomber jumper, Launceston's age old design...
R07-10 South v Hobart 1.jpg
2010 South Launceston v Hobart
R07-11 Burnie player Samuel Rice boots the ball into attack in the game against Hobart.jpg
2011 Burnie v Hobart. Burnie are affiliated with Freo, so they followed with the jumper design...
R18-10 Jeremy Howe.jpg
2010 Launceston v Hobart - both wearing heritage jumpers...Hobart used to be Cananore before WW2, not sure what the deal is with Launceston here...
R16-12 Lauderdale\'s Phillip Bellchambers (centre) gets some attention from North Hobart.jpg
2012 Lauderdale v North Hobart - North wear this grey clash strip sometimes...
R09-10 North Hobart\'s Joe Arnold is swamped by Clarence players.jpg
2010 North Hobart Demons v Clarence, who call themselves the Roos...
R13-10 Clarence\'s Mitchell Swan is too fast for Glenorchy\'s Jake Cox.jpg
2010 Clarence v Glenorchy - Clarence used to wear this heritage strip. Glenorchy are almost identical to Devonport, but the only constant difference is that they don't put the magpie on the chest...otherwise, it's the sponsors which tell them apart...
R09-13 North v North.jpg
2012 North Launceston v North Hobart - North Launceston wearing a clash strip representing 120 years in existence...the Bomber logo is on the left, the robin in the middle is what they were known as until about 2000...
R09-11 North Launceston\'s Callen Young skips away from his Hobart opponents.jpg
2011 - Hobart v North Launceston - North usually run around in this. Note the number on the front WAFL style...no other senior team in Australia does this outside WA...

TSL Part II...
QF2-10 Glenorchy\'s David Hunt spoils Devonport\'s Kurt Heazlewood on Staurday night.jpg
TSL - 2010 Devonport v Glenorchy - both Magpies, so Glenorchy wear a clash strip from their Storm days in the mid-90's. Note Devonport magpie emblem on the chest...
R12-11 Russell Robertson leads the chase in his appearance for the Burnie Dockers.jpg
2011 Burnie v Devonport - Russ Robertson has no trouble outsprinting his Devonport opponent, whose lack of legspeed is only outdone by the amazing lack of effort his team put into designing their clash strip...
R13-11.jpg
2011 - Burnie v South Launceston - heritage strips both. Burnie used to be the Cooee Bulldogs until 1987, when they joined the TFL. There are two yellow bands Footscray style. South are an amalgamation of East Launceston (Demons) and City-South (Redlegs, South Melbourne jumper), so this is mix of both...
R03-13 North v South 1.jpg
2013 North Launceston v South Launceston...South are smashing everyone at the moment, but have just voted themselves out of the TSL after this year...so with any luck they can win the flag and bow out in style after having never ever made the finals in the entire history of the statewide comp (since 1986!)...

WAFL jumpers for Naidoc Week, 2013.

Only new ones this year were Sharks, Claremont (who've had more than most) and Peel. Subi had a slight adjustment with half of the team in the new-style collars/cuffs (as seen on the rest of them here) in all-maroon. The old style there had maroon/black/gold piping and the neckbar.

These jumpers have usually been a nice respite from the gratuitous sponsorship, but I'm not sure why/what the sponsor is on West Perth's. They don't have one on the home guernsey this season.
I saw East Fremantle's in action this weekend, and is probably the best NAIDOC I've seen. The wave motif continues around the back, and is on the base of the retro Foxtel cup design we saw earlier this season - looks very tidy. Also appreciate the detailing that went into the shark.

Teams wear these jumpers in two consecutive weeks to faciliate the bye (as well as home-game exposure), which East Perth had this year.

Under the current Crows/Power reserves team proposal the Crows will enter a team under a different moniker than the senior team. So i was thinking a complete revamp and we use the clubs Indigenous Round guernsey and have the Ravens

The wp guernsey is 4 years old with a 4 year old sponsor

The
What would be the reason behind that? Also does anyone have pics?
the promo photo was probably done before they took shipment of the new one. The wafl paid for the indigenous round jumper to be made 4 years ago and have mad a new set this year as all the sponsors are well out of date. I bought three from the club last year with the green uranium sponsorship

Thats a disgrace, shouldnt be able to buy any state jersey ever, should only be earnt
I don't mind as this is limited edition and ensures history (i.e. collectors keep them as players sometimes do not, or get passed on to family etc). I would take issue with selling them openly.

From Lost WAFL on Facebook, the introduction of shield logos in 1981. Prior to this, all logos were based on the wide fat W from the league's logo.

For the non-Sandgropers, these were all again updated in 1997 for the ill-fated Westar Rules rebranding - the logo for which still, in a show of how backwater this state is, remains today.
The 1997 shields also saw updated versions of Tiger, Swan (reverted to an older graphic) and Demon. The Sharks were christened in the late 80s (?) with the logo we still see today, while West Perth changed up the colour layout from here. I would say this '81 change coincided with the nickname 'Falcons' - even though, curiously, the logo states 'Cardinals'.

Interestingly, in the last few years the Sharks have now gone back to this retro shield design for almost every official usage.
East Perth deviated from the Westar shield from 2005-2010 (and still have a traditional coat of arms on polos etc); Swans have now opted for an oval holding shape; while Peel have barely used it in an official capacity since their inception, except when put in series with the other teams. Claremont got a new Tiger again in 2009, this time on yellow.
Subi have 3 versions of the Lion logo from various updates, one of which faces the other way, and a head-only jumper logo from 1997-2000. The above is the second version and still the most used.
Sticklers will also notice the new shields themselves have had sneaky alterations from West Perth (less rounded) and Perth (curvy point).

And don't get me started on the fonts - there's been two official versions (a block serif and a TNR-line serif) used interchangeably by the clubs for years. Plus WP, EF, EP and Perth have all had individual typefaces at various stages. West Perth added 'Joondalup' under the Falcon in the mid 2000's.

At least the WAFL tried for consistency in the 70s and 80s.

I think I know what they are referring to, but would like to see some of these 'fun version' of the club emblem.

Easts have kept everything and just replaced the 'Sharks' font

The current Swans logo...

...which is alright considering, but I prefer this old one. I have never known anyone refer to them as anything but 'Swans.' And it's not like the AFL with 'the Swans,' so I like how the old shield pedestals that

The Demons have seemingly sharpened the bottom of their shield added a new wordmark

This is the current Royals...

...but does anyone remember this ill-fated one? I can't find a high quality version of it. I have a feeling it was when they were running around in black shorts (post-Westar 2000s) which made blue shorts seem almost soft when they brought back in

But if you go on the Swans website, in the fixture bar, it has East Perth with this logo. Is it a milestone this year?

Souths also trot this one sometimes. Fremantle Oval is full of about three variants of this logo... I don't think the old diggers there care too much though...

Also, these are the old W ones he's referring to... so cool... such a way to maintain continuity between clubs and the competition logo
