I had 15 blokes ahead of him on his form this year. Crameri was much better in 2011 and 2012 when he had less weight on him and wasn't played as a KP the whole year.

Thats good , no big deal him going then ?
As for more weight wonder where that come from ?

Ha Ha Essendon flogs are funny!

Taking pot shots at his body and his kicking skills but they offered him big bucks and 3 years (??).

It's like reading Tigers flogs views on Dustin Martin when he was shopping himself around. He went from being a star, to a hack, to a club great in 4 days!

(Would be hilarious if Stew stayed at the Bombers. He'd suddenly become Matty Lloyd overnight.)

I could care less if we end up with Crameri or not....but it seems to me that Essendon supporters and club really care about being trumped by us. When you get veiled cracks at blokes from coaches and Supporters you know they are in pain.

This. They're hating it so much :p.
I've been against Crameri the whole time, but I find it hilarious.

I've already posted here and on the Essendon board that he will be a big loss and a great recruit for the dogs. That doesn't change the fact he bulked up too much this year and was played in a role that didn't suit him which saw him have a down year.

Crameri's best position is a big half forward who is too athletic for a key position defender and too strong for a small defender. Essendon played him as a FF/CHF for most of the year which is reportedly one of the reasons he's leaving.

The good thing in all of the Cram deal is while we won't get him in the PSD......the Bummers won't get pick 22.

It will end up being 23 or 24.

:thumbsu:

Trading doesn't officially start until Monday. General consensus that pick 22 will get it done but bombers pushing for 22 plus player. Speculation that the player might be Higgins but it is pure speculation. Bombers don't hold the cards. Some want us to take it to the PSD but there is no certainty we'll get him so lets offer pick 22 and be done with it.

Essendon supporters apparently don't rate him but want the world in return.

Couldn't be bothered reading back through 18 pages of posts...can someone summarise for me what the deal is currently with Crameri please?

Yes he has put on too much weight , is a poor kick for goal , Dr Reid has gone past him as a footballer,
And the Peptide people will hand him over for nothing with a brown paper bag full of ----- to share with the rest of his new team mates.

Ok. In a 30 second nutshell;
1) Bombers flogs rated Cram highly enough to beg him to stay and offered him big bucks + 3 years which he kindly declined.
2) Bombers flogs say Cram is an un-loyal hack that doesn't want a flag, can't kick set shot goals and has bad soft tissues in his legs/feet.
3). Bombers flogs TODAY rate him so highly and they must have Higgins + pick 22 as a package.
4) No official deals until Monday.

5) Hope this helps...

Cliff notes:- Bombers flogs

I remember watching Crameri running around a few years ago thinking 'where the hell did they pull this guy from' - I've been a fan ever since. He's seriously a good player and whilst not a star(they do like them flashy at the Don's) he's the sort of player you need in a successful team. If we get him that's at least 1 more piece of the 22 piece puzzle solved.

Please don't swap for pick 22. We need another good couple of draft picks so these players come through together in 3 to 4 years time. Haven't we learnt anything. I'd be keeping all picks and trading a player like Higgins (fresh start) for more picks in the top 40. We get 5 top 40 picks to go with last year crop and we are building a future. Stick with in Dogs!!!
Try our luck in the pre-season wqith Crameri otherwise stick with what we have. Stringer is similiar.

But here's the thing. Crameri for pick 22 is a steal - it's only on option because of the luck that he's out of contract and we've gone the money, He wants to come here and Essendon are in a bit of a rabble without a coach. That's why it's a good deal for us - this rarely occurs. We get a best 22 player for the next 6 years. There's no guarantee pick 22 will become part of our best 22. In fact, I crunched the maths on this in another thread and over the past 10 years there's only about 30% that we'll get a player equal to Crameri even if I include picks 20-23 in that count.

Don't we have enough guys already? Time to lock in a guaranteed player and not just have a team of 'potentials' running around.

Pick 22 may become a Crameri or even better. The only issue is why would we wait 2-3 years for them to develop when Crameri already has 50+ under his belt and is nearing his prime. Ready made good forward that slots straight into the side. We can take a punt and go to the Draft with pick 4 and 22 or we get pick 4 and Crameri who has proven that he is a good player with AFL experience. Ill take Crameri especially in a shallow draft and the fact we get to stick it to Essendon for a change :)

Essendon fans are hurting, if they weren't there wouldn't be any of the backlash we're seeing.

I really want Crameri to do nothing all game when we play Essendon, but he marks the ball with 2 seconds left on the clock from 55m out, and kicks a long bomb goal. Please footy gods, make it happen.

I'd rather he kicks 6 that buries them by 3/4 time

Don't think this is an issue with our list - we have so many (good) young players we really dont need more kids through this year. Even just our 1st year players - Stringer, Macrae, Hrovat, Hunter, Prudden - not to mention all our 2nd and 3rd year players.

Agree. Besides, recruiting, nurturing and developing too many elite young players will only lead to heartbreak when they all want more money or more opportunities. The key for us now is to put together and maintain a balanced list. Recruiting a 25 year old proven goalkicker is one step towards that.

Good post. I thought he was carrying a little to much as well.
Hazard to guess he's been carrying an ankle injury for a long period of time .
A fit Crameri will be handy as we desperately require a hit up hard working target.
The media bang on about a key forward, but a hit up that works both ways is a vital component in today 's game.
We have probably paid overs, but to prize a player away from his club you have to do that.
