Welcome to Ian Struzyna & Dylan Doecke 2024 Phantom Draft. We break down all predicted pick trades & matched bids.
Think you might be a little bit Bias thinking Richmond trade #11 for Norths F1
Very doubtful any pick prior to #18 gets traded into future picks

But good effort with the selections

My Fremantle mate made that trade & pick, as he thinks Richmond can get a Key Position player later in the draft & get two top 5 picks next year!
I appreciate the feedback, more is welcome.

How dare you pick players A and B for the Swans, when clearly the Swans need players C and X much more. You sir are a liar and a fraud. Good day to you.

Would be pretty ok if that happened
Surely won't happen for anything less than #5 (which it will be next year). I understand Richmond won't do it, and neither should we. I'd be more interested in our 2 & 2024 R3 (39 before bids) for Essendon's 2x2025 R1 + 28, 31.

I don't understand why that isn't being discussed.

You are extremely optimistic with your expectation

So North out : #2 + F3 (which is not worth anything really)
North in : Essendon F1 , Melbourne F1 , #28 , #31

NO CHANCE

Which is ok, completely understand. But, you'll have to have another go at the output, this time with some reality thrown in for good measure. Hope you don't mind my attempt at that.

Out North and In Essington: O'Sullivan (2) and (40ish), Kako (not bid on where it would hurt).

In North, Out Essington: Essendon F1 (12ish), Melbourne (14ish), 28 (35ish), 31(39ish)

Is it so in our favour now once you add in the dose of realism?

The problem is essendon with 2,kako and Melbourne with 5,9 both might improve ( but more likely 2026 not 2025). Other than that, is this trade too much in favour of North that essendon won't consider it?

As a north supporter I have so little interest in that trade. What am I missing?
Hannaford & Gerreyn (Maybe) on top of 3x R1's next season. With one being Ludowycke and other holes we do have. Time to see/use what we have and further develop Goad, WDawson, Goater and Duursma and Hardeman.

I thought the draft was deep, not as elite as normal at top end though.
4 good picks for 1, including a chance of gett
But they are all “maybe” picks and scenarios. There’s a reason why Bombres would want to do what they are doing, in this hypothetical.
Top 2 players/talent are hard to come by. It’s your stars than win you games. The role players are massively important, but the real deal blokes are the ones that win premierships.
