So according to the selectors, Soligo is either not in our best 22 (laughably stupid), or he’s underdone (ding ding).

An injury in the first 5 minutes would outline the utter stupidity of selecting a player who is not fit to play a full afl game as the sub.

It’s been two weeks since he played half a preseason game and looked really good, surely he’s not still underdone

IMO it’s a case of the coaches thinking ‘an open spot in the team allowed Sholl and Berry to cement places in the side’, so basically Soligo’s injury pushes him back in the selection queue. Which is even more stupid

Richmond were going to do it with Lynch the other evening, but that was thwarted with the early injury. Truth be told, I can recall others (including a few occasions at WCE).

Still an odd call, but I’m sure he will make a strong impact when he gets on and would expect he would be in the starting 22 next week 👍

There’s a stronger argument for Soligo being in our best 6 available players than outside the best 22. It’s just insane to me how these guys find ways to outsmart themselves.

Soligo sub. Bad call
Would have preferred Murphy... but given Soligo is coming back from injury, I don't have a huge issue with this like others do... so long as we inject him early in the 3rd quarter.

He should be able to do more damage per minute than if he played the full game... & he showed he can be an impact player in the Weagles game.

I know plenty will be unhappy, but I will only be annoyed if he is sub in 6 days time.

I'd be terrified of being the sub if I was Soligo. Given that his output is 90% excellent games and 10% the worst trash you've ever seen.

Imagine if one of the 10% games came when right on the borderline.

Of course then I'd remember I have a secure contract until the end of time.

Yep. If he needs match fitness he should have played a full game in the SANFL today.

If he’s not match fit and we get an early injury?

So if he’s match fit he should play, if not he should play SANFL.

Nicks is an idiot.

What does coming back from injury mean? Are you suggesting he’s not fit enough to run out the game? If not how is he supposed to get this fitness sitting on the bench?

I was expecting you to respond that you are in a better position than Burgess about the fitness levels of Soligo.

I'm all for managing players & using the sub smartly.

Yeah, but no need to call George "smarty"!!

Wonder how many other afl clubs would sign a guy up until 2029 and then relegate him to sub because he rolled an ankle a month ago and subsequently looked like the best player on the field when he came into a preseason game a fortnight ago.

Fit = start in the midfield

Underdone = play SANFL trial game

Sub = nonsense

Maybe George Kramer is actually Nigel Smart???

How tall are you George?

So what you’re saying is that Soligo will be a liability due to fitness if we get an injury 5 mins into the game.

Seems a strange risk to take.
