Tony Brown runs back to the Saints

Former St Kilda Player Tony Brown and Strength and Conditioning Manager Josh Low will be the Saints team runners on game day during the 2012 season.
Brown made his debut for the St Kilda Football Club in 1995 and after five years at the club left with 108 games and 62 goals to his name.
After a stint at the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, Tony taught at Sandringham East Primary School as a 5/6 teacher and later went on to teach at Hailebury College.
He has returned to the club after eleven years and on game day will join Josh, who after being a part-time fitness assistant was appointed as the Strength and Conditioning Manager in November.
Tony adds to the recent former player appointments at the club joining Aaron Hamill, Max Hudghton and Troy Schwarze.

Re: New Coach: Troy Schwarz

Are there any potential rookies called Luke?

We had one, but he went over to the dark side.

May the Schwarz be with you.

Schwarze will remain as coach of Sorrento despite being given a specialist role at his former AFL club St Kilda.

Despite their triple premiership mentor's new job, Sharks president Garry Woodhams said they are prepared to allow Schwarze to juggle the two roles.

"His job [at St Kilda] involves match day and three days a week at this stage," he said. "He's available to take training and coach and play in a number of games. So depending on our draw and until otherwise advised he will be our coach."

I'll never forget the goal Schwarze kicked to get us over the line against the lions at Telstra Dome. The volume of the crowd went from 100 to 1000,000 in the space of 2 seconds!!!!!

The St Kilda Football Club has appointed Greg Doyle to the position of Ruck Coach.

“Player development is a key focus for the Club and the appointment of someone with Greg’s experience will provide specific technical coaching for our young ruckmen,” explains St Kilda Senior Coach Scott Watters.

The appointment of Doyle completes St Kilda’s coaching roster for its 2012 AFL Program.

Never heard of him tbh. Anyone on here able to fill us in?

The release also says we've completed our coaching roster. Does this mean we've appointed the Acedemy Director and I missed the post or do they not count that as part of the coaching panel?

it does say for the AFL program- so Academy Director will be the development sector.

I remember him as a player, and was disappointed to see the Saints delist him. Maybe just a little too slow (and opportunities were always going to be limited around Lockett and Loewe). Played some reasonable footy for the Dees.

Also played at Dandenong, Frankston, Rye and Traralgon before starting coaching with the U/18s.

So I take it that technically the Director and Opposition Analyst aren't "coaches" then?

Cause they updated the staff list with Greg Doyle's name, if they were ditching the above roles they would've just deleted the blank rows from the Staff page.

Wrong Saints.

No Opposition Analyst has been appointed yet. ;)

But as Benchy hinted, these positions are not really coaching roles (no direct player involvement on a day to day basis).

Gilbee says he won't miss the hard training, or the urgings of the Dogs' fitness guru Bill Davoren.

Triathlete Erin Densham’s turbulent four years since the Beijing Olympics has taken another dramatic twist, with partner Jonathan Hall resigning from Triathlon Australia.

Densham has had rotten luck in the past four years – glandular fever, a heart condition and a hamstring injury meant continual setbacks.

Last year she had a “hot spot” in her leg that nearly became a stress fracture.

With Hall about to head overseas, Densham will board with Bill Davoren, the former Triathlon Australia national performance director who now works at the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.

Davoren had a massive impact on Densham’s early career before she made the Beijing Olympics team.

“Obviously we lost touch there for a few years and he left the sport … I just needed to rekindle that. I needed him there, he’s like a rock.”

(Densham finished 3rd in the Olympics)

They've completed the hardest yards of the pre-season. They can wind up the conditioning coach, in this case the Western Bulldogs' ''completely mad'' Bill Davoren, without fear of retribution. ''Every year he's ramped it up, and this is his third year,'' says Daniel Cross. ''The boys keep giving it to him; he'll be crying this week because he loves it so much. We go into footy phase now.''
