Swans intra-club match

I thought Mitchell would have been among the better players when he was on, he definitely looked bigger than last year. Thought I saw someone else mention that he was used sparingly. He still managed to find the ball a bit. Seemed fine for this time of year.

Weird that you were most impressed by Derickx, I found him the least impressive. Thought Nankers and Naismith were the most impressive.

Yeah not sure, there was just something that stood out to me. Not to take away from Nankers though he was very good as well, and Naismith showed glimpses though I'd gauge he's furthest away from senior footy from a physicality standpoint.

While there's always going to be some difference of opinion I'm taking a very positive vibe out of the intraclub. It sounds like great wraps for double A (Allir Allir) which hopefully will turn out to be yet another bargain basement price diamond for us in the coming years. Also happy to hear our ruck stocks are healthy and it sounds like I'm going to really like Derickx & Nank if there's a bit of the tough nut who loves a contest about them (like the big Mummster *sigh*).

What a bargain Laidler will be punts if he has truly gotten over his knee issues, at only 24 he has many years ahead of him and will secure a permanent position in our backline.
For some reason I really like him and think if he shows in the NAB he might break into the side early and hopefully cements a spot

Very pleasing reading to be honest.

We have an A Grade defensive unit (elite when fit)

We have an elite midfield the equal of any and Hawthorn can go suck my unmentionables if they think they are going to snag any. Pricks.

We have pace.

We have arguably one of the meanest forwards lines I have seen in the comp with two genuine stars, a young fella that has enormous potential and a bloke called Goodes that apparently won something called a Brownlow a few times.

We also had a ruck division comprised of a Canadian that has been playing the game for a few years and not long ago was pretty injury prone. The fact that he was also one of our most accurate, probably the most accurate in the league, and potent forwards last year was not lost on me either. So why wouldn't he be made the number 1 ruck?

After reading these comments I am very content with my private thoughts on the matter - that the club had recruited well AND had enormous faith in Naismith to step up if needs be. The missing link seems well covered.

Happy to hear BJ, Towers and Harry going well plus Laids and Rampe. We know the top end talent we have purrs. If improvement can be got out of that mid to lower level talent pool it will be scary to watch.

Looking forward to watching this tonight.

3 quarters up so far on the website. Yippeee.....I know what Im doing tonight.
I am so desperate for football I got butterflies in my stomach when I saw the uploads.
I must be perfectly healthy.

Reading all these reviews have gotten me very excited for the season.

Can't wait till next Thursday night!

With all due respect to everyone lets not get too far ahead of ourselves over an intra club game, kids and newbies always go harder, experienced players work on certain things and older players just tune in and take it easy find a little touch.. Lets at least wait to the NAB cup to get prematurely excited and ahead of ourselves.

Toby Nankervis kicked 3.1 and took some great grabs. He is a hard match up this bloke. tough to get out of the way and always exrends his arms so the opponent has no hope. Beat Reg hands down on more than one occasion.

Jeremy Laidler was wonderful. controlled the backline. He delivers so well. his footpassing is a feature of his game. He is also a pretty good contested mark and made every opponent earn their possessions. A very good pick up.

This excites me very much!!!!

.
JohnG asked the question earlier in the thread, Did Nankervis kick those three quick goals in a row in the same quarter on Reg or someone else? Or was he just left loose?
