This is all conjecture but Aliir has been playing forward and in the Ruck until last week. Thrown into defence the whole game and didn't ruck even when Naismith was resting. If you know Melican is carrying an injury it would make sense to prepare Aliir to play defence

As much as I want Aliir in, I wouldn't be totally happy if it were at the expense of someone whose either important (Grundy or Sir Dane) or whose worked hard for their spot all year (Naismith, Melican etc)
