F: Bolton, Goodes, McGlynn

We're really putting our reserves through the ringer. As ever, thank **** we aren't getting injuries to our midfield and rather to areas we can cover.

Unfortunate for Lamb but he will have to be sub again as Armstrong will come straight in to be the seventh defender surely.

I can see either Jesse White or Mitch Morton being the sub. If Tippet is not playing a full game then they seem like better options to start out as sub rather than Jed Lamb.

I see us winning this game by atleast 40 points but if we have a chance for a percentage booster than we need to take it because it may be crucial at the end of the year.

Won't be Jesse he will have to relief ruck. Morton possible although unlikely as they would have to rearrange the forward structure

Armstrong straight swap for Everitt in defence
White replaces Mumford in the ruck-forward role, Tippett takes White's forward role
Lamb replaces Jack jnr as the sub

Would rather have Xavier play than Armstrong, to be honest. It's not like we're playing a top 8 side or anything.

The Everitt lose is actually a big one looking at their side, Shultz, Westhoff and Butcher leaves the swans side looking really short again in defence. Which is the clear weakness that teams will be able to expose if they're good enough.

With Tippett rusty and White and Armstrong both playing (hoping the latter 2 can step up, but not counting on it), the others really need to be on their game.
We'll see what the bye effect has on the side, hopefully it doesn't halt the momentum. The form of the last few weeks will see a win, but a regression to the form earlier in the season will result in a loss...Unlike North, St. Kilda, GWS ect. Port have improved enough to make it count.

Not necessarily. McVeigh has been named on the wing but has been playing in defence, and Armstrong isn't exactly known for his tenacious defensive work. While I do think that it's probably likely, given Armstrong has been named in the back pocket and Lamb is on the bench, we could definitely get away with playing Armstrong as the sub, and I do think Lamb would benefit more from a full game than Armstrong, who has had more senior experience.

Personally, I'm thinking that with Everitt out, they may choose to drop White as a spare man down back when he's not rucking. Not to play a direct one-on-one role, nor to perform that role CONSTANTLY, but just spend some time down there and try fill some space when Port's forwardline are stacked with talls.

I'm not really basing my prediction on the fact that Armstrong was named in the starting side and Lamb wasn't. That can always change. We just always play seven defenders. Always. That seems to be a "structure", to used a term that is used so often to everyone's annoyance, that this coaching staff seems to really value so I can't see that changing in order to accommodate Lamb.

If it was to accommodate a stud senior player, then perhaps they would consider it but I think they like rolling with this 7 man defence at the expense of almost any other potential attacking advantage we might have in alternative.

Rampe has been doing more of the 3rd tall jobs than Everitt over the last few weeks anyway so it doesn't put us in complete shit but it is definitely a loss as he was playing his role wonderfully well.
