Another seven tipsters disappear leaving just eleven remaining as we enter the finals.

As hinted at previously, to guarantee we get a winner this season we are going to move to our "Top 10" rules from here on.

The Slippery Slope
One of the weaknesses of the competition is that after a while it ends up with only a handful of competitors. Interest wanes and the last few rounds drag out, sort of like the last minute of a basketball game. For that reason, when we get to the ‘business end’ of the competition we are going to expediate matters.

Once we’re down to 10 tipsters or less remaining we will move to double speed. The remaining tipsters will need to pick two goal kickers each round, a first choice and a second choice until we get an ultimate winner.

We will also switch to secret ballot for this double speed period. Tipsters will need to PM me their selections and I’ll publish them just prior to the game. The positives are that this adds an element of cloak and dagger to the competition and for me it’s kind of exciting to get mail.

So you need to PM me your picks during the week. I will publish them 90 minutes before game time (whenever that is) so there can be no changes after that time.

It's probably just as well that I am knocked out - my picks have been jinxed! Danger couldn't even score against GWS

Lynchy was cursed yesterday. Kicked a goal in the first quarter, but disallowed due to dodgy free to GC.
Marked a Tippett play-on in the goal square in second quarter, but ump did not allow advantage and sent kick back to Matty Wright.
Took a clean mark in third quarter, 30 out straight in front - not paid!

In the last quarter I kept yelling "kick it to the Ranga" - but they kicked it to Sauce twice and also Riley!

The boys will be better off in the finals without the burden of my selections.

For this weekend's Qualifying Final, I will close off nominations 90 minutes before the game and publish the selections then - so tips need to be in by 1:15pm.
