i can see adelaide and north pulling some tricks
eg north wants mcdonald-adelaide says make crouch a big offer so we get pick 2 and we will take hollands and RT and we wont pick mcdonald

north is letting higgins go and cunnington is cooked - desperately need brad crouch or similar - noone else is available

with mcdonald and crouch north replace brown and higgins. unlike essendon they have no FA compo to worry about and plenty of cap room. its a no brainer.

it's actually the simplest option of all. adelaide can then get parfitt in psd or pick 40 or something if he really wants to go to crows. i actually prefer parfitt to hately but will take both. raz i wouldn't bother as dodoro will mess everything else up and I want to chase rankine hard next year.

adelaide and north will also work out who is bidding on academy who and get maximum trade whether its going after sydneys what would be pick 4 or bulldogs pick 13 etc as discussed
I read that one too in the fantasy section at dymocks..lol

Sounds like Bickley needs a night out with Stengle. Might loosen him up.

The chair in the 5AA studio must be be possessed. He's rapidly turning into another Graham Cornes.

Would rather use a third round (or later) pick drafting Corey Durdin than trade for Fantasia. Might as well have kept Knight if we wanted an ineffective, injury prone, small forward.

sh*t empty threat that one. Daniher isn’t staying at the bombers.

Can always take Daniher in the PSD then. Give him a chance to get back to his best and flip him for a first next year.
Would be worth it just to stick it up the bombers

...the cops didnt give enough of a sh*t to even bother charging them..
Personally I’m not buying the “we were watching CCTV footage” from the cops. If the cops charged the players then their cause for searching the players would be cross-examined. I’m not sure they had legally justifiable reasons to search the players and therefore didn’t want to press charges.

Parfitt has played a fair bit of midfield in some of the geelong games I've watched this season, If indeed we are into him I doubt he'll be playing the small forward role very much for us either..
If he came to us there would be no chance he plays small forward. He plays half forward for Geelong with runs through the mids so I'm not sure he's ever played that position. If we get him it's as a mid

Dodgy as hell. We’d be pretty silly to believe they have the resources to man CCTV cameras all night long looking for people doing lines. If they do, I’d rather they spent it doing some more serious police work. And for Grant Stephens to publicly comment on something as insignificant as this..? I’d love to know how many other taxis they’ve bothered to pull over recently. Crouch and Stengle were definitely dobbed in by somebody.

In a good side, Fantasia is icing. In a struggling side, Fantasia is a whipping boy.

However.....his 1.6 goals and 0.7 goal assists p/g from 2016 - 2019 is intriguing. And it's not like he never laid a tackle in that time... averaging 3.3 p/g.

Compare that to our current/recent small forwards:

Murphy: 0.8 goals and 0.5 goal assists p/g. 3.3 tackles p/g.
McAdam: 0.9 goals and 0.3 goal assists p/g. 2.9 tackles p/g.
Betts: 2.3 goals and 0.9 goal assists p/g. 3.1 tackles p/g.
Lynch: 1.3 goals and 0.8 goal assists p/g. 2.0 tackles p/g.

Clearly this doesn't absolve him of his lack of accountability and lacking defensive fwd pressure, however he is clearly worth a punt if cheap.

They do man the CCTV cameras but it is not police officers that do it.

I used to have a mate that did it. He wanted to be a cop but hadn't gotten in yet.

If he can't get on the park it doesn't matter how the team is. Don't like trading in injury prone players. Would prefer we draft a hungry kid and target a better small forward through the trade in a year or two. Essendon are pricks to deal with as well. I hope he goes to powaa.

People here keep asking the same question about nearly every other club in the league. We are the exception that is always full and can never add a top liner.
all teams can do it - you just front or back load contracts. we just dont do it...

Not interested in Fantasia. Too injury prone and who really wants to deal with Essendon?

I'd take him next year as a free agent. If it costs a draft pick with a point value Port can have him. But Admin will probably be in a bidding process to beat Port on this and force Reid to 'just get it done'. So we'll spend Atkins compo on him.

Fox Footy running with the story that we're the most likely destination for Orazio

ANOTHER BOMBER SET TO MAKE CALL TO LEAVE

Another player is poised to depart Essendon with the club bracing for a trade request from lively utility Orazio Fantasia.

The Bomber was linked with a move back to South Australia in 2019, before foxfooty.com.au exclusively revealed he would be staying put.

However, just 12 months later, the Bombers have come to terms that a request could be imminent, with the Adelaide Crows his most likely team of choice.

Really not the happiest about that, he's barely worth anything to us as a rebuilding side. I guess if the Stengle suspension is going to be lengthy though, then we could do with some depth? I'd cough up 50 or 60 I guess

When this story was around last year, Port was the likely destination due in part to Fantasia’s relationship with Bassett. Make of that what you will.

Yeah can't say I'm enthused about Orazio. Could be ok if he gets fit but he has so far been made of glass.

That said, pay a 4th or 5th? I could live with it.

Do keep in mind that this is Dodoro we'd be dealing with though (and Orazio is contracted), so unless they deal in good faith due to the level of his homesickness, then I doubt we'd be able to pay that little

So we’re getting a bloke (who barely gets on the park due to injury) in to cover a completely unnecessary “lengthy suspension period” we may be about to give to our best small forward?..

I’m with you.. not happy about it.. but it does sound like an idea the dumb ****s in charge at our club would come up with.

seriously, what does Fanta bring to our rebuilding side ffs?..

if we dont pick up Newchurch, or maybe even that Spicer lad, because we’ve instead filled that list spot to get Fanta in I’ll be ****in livid..

and if the dumb ****s bring in Fanta and give Mookay another year effectively clogging up two list spots...

and you watch.. when/if we do say ok to taking him... dodo will know we’ve committed and will ask for pick 20 “he’s contracted!!” for him and the vic media will get behind it claiming we’re arseholes if we dont hand it over!..

Fantasia would be fine, if he comes for close to no cost. We're not using anything earlier than a third round, and a player is probably more likely.

I don't HATE him on the list, and while he shouldn't play before Stengle he probably would play before Murphy.

I'm not that scared that we would overpay. Our valuing of players has mostly been about right. If Dodoro acts like he did last year, it just won't happen.
