Do keep in mind that this is Dodoro we'd be dealing with though (and Orazio is contracted), so unless they deal in good faith due to the level of his homesickness, then I doubt we'd be able to pay that little

Dodoro is an absolutely garbage list manager but also we really shouldn't be that fussed with this trade. Afterall Orazio has serious issues staying healthy. Offer a nothing pick as a take it or leave it and move on.

Fantasia would be fine, if he comes for close to no cost. We're not using anything earlier than a third round, and a player is probably more likely.

I don't HATE him on the list, and while he shouldn't play before Stengle he probably would play before Murphy.

I'm not that scared that we would overpay. Our valuing of players has mostly been about right. If Dodoro acts like he did last year, it just won't happen.

I'm not vehemently opposed to Fantasia, but nor am I keen. I think about it and just feel nothing. If I were any less excited I'd probably have to go see my doctor for a Viagra prescription.

I just don't see where he fits in or what need he's filling. It just seems like we'd only be doing it because he's an established player who wants to come here. Or, possibly more accurately, just wants out of Essendon. But yeah - "this guy says he wants to come to the Crows! See? People like us!". Oh well, 3rd round pick max, preferably 4th. If the trades for the players we actually want (ie Hately and whoever else we might be into) go through fairly smoothly then maybe Fantasia is the one to use our PSD pick on if there are no other worthwhile targets around?

No PSD, he's contracted.

We won't do that for fear of being 'beaten' by Port.

I have that concern too, but I mean with Hately, surely that's diminished?

It's not like their coming home empty handed this trade period. Nor is Fantasia that prized of a recruit.

Did you just compare Doedee to Orazio?

Even with their respective injury histories I wouldn’t take 10 Orazio’s for 1 Doedee
By all means don't take Fantasia if you don't think he can play

But if its just because he "can't get on the park" then we should probably trade out Doedee at the same time

Adelaide: Raz
Pies: Kelly
Essendon: 38

But I don't want Raz.

You actually think Dodoro would accept 38 for Fantasia? Zero chance.

He'll be demanding our Pick 8, at a minimum, I also wouldn't be shocked if he initially asks for Pick 1 for him. I'm not joking either.

He knocked back two first round picks for Daniher, he's an absolute clown and a nightmare for clubs to deal with

Fantasia is contracted why why would we trade to take their contract obligations off their books . To get what a average player at best who will keep fitness staff busier than Knight and Brad combined previous years and Dodoro would want us to give him draft picks . NO .
You signed him you keep him orb given him to North.

Personally I have a multitude of reasons why I would pass on ol’ Razzle Dazzle

For me;
His best was pretty good, but evidence would suggest it’s now behind him
Gut feeling is he doesn’t seem like a particularly high character/good locker room guy
Doesn’t seem to fit the mould of Nicksy‘s ‘play for each other’ team motto
Dodoro is a terrible trade partner, so I very much doubt we would be ‘getting him for nothing’
He uses up a vital roster spot in a rebuild
He uses up salary cap for attracting higher ceiling players in future years
He demands a valuable HFF position that we need free to get games into highly drafted kids

Oh, and after all that, he’s also made of glass and getting more fragile by the season.

So as you probably tell, I’m very much off the Orazio Fantasia bandwagon

If we have any brains we'll make our offer and won't budge

He'd be a nice to have IMO but is not integral. We can walk away. From Hately we can't.

Yeah ok

I look at our list though and there are very few who've ever done anything at all. Some who have in the past (Sloane, Walker, Lynch) but are a million miles past it.

The football Fantasia has played puts him ahead of most of our list, even though he's a B Grader. Which is why we're bottom.

Not sure how valuable list spots are when Mackay at 32 is still in the frame. And our rebuild is done.

For me, If you are bringing in B graders to your side they better bring leadership or set a good example for the youth you are blooding.

Do you see either of those qualities in Raz?

A) Did you watch DMAC this year?
B) We still don’t know how deep list cuts will be this offseason
C) We are about to probably have an 7-8 player draft on top of FA

Make no mistakes list spots will be at a premium

I feel confident regarding Fantasia. The club are well aware of the Gibbs deal. Although many have pointed out it didn't turn out as bad as the media present it, it's still seen as a bit of a dark cloud over us. Can't see Kelly allowing anything stupid happening here.

3rd rounder max, or keep a guy on your list for another year who doesn't want to be there. Saad, Daniher etc, now's the time to clear out those that don't want to stay. Can't see them forcing Fantasia to stay.

Parfitt has played a fair bit of midfield in some of the geelong games I've watched this season, If indeed we are into him I doubt he'll be playing the small forward role very much for us either..

I wonder whether he might think that his midfield time will be lessened if Geelong are looking to bring in the likes of Crouch and Higgins. I really hope we've done our due diligence here and asked the question.

It would be a low pick or he stays. I'm fine with having him on the list.
Prefer him than Murphy.

They're not if Dmac is still being considered for a spot. If they're at a premium, 32yo perennial fringe performer in a role we have numerous options in would have been retired already. He has nothing to offer a 'rebuilding' side. Will have no impact on our next finals push. And yes, I watched him, very typically mediocre early but selected for 'experience' and played a couple of better games late.

Fox Footy running with the story that we're the most likely destination for Orazio

Really not the happiest about that, he's barely worth anything to us as a rebuilding side. I guess if the Stengle suspension is going to be lengthy though, then we could do with some depth? I'd cough up 50 or 60 I guess
I’ve heard the same, crows his club of choice

If he can't get on the park it doesn't matter how the team is. Don't like trading in injury prone players. Would prefer we draft a hungry kid and target a better small forward through the trade in a year or two. Essendon are pricks to deal with as well. I hope he goes to powaa.

The deal with Essendon will be interesting. I agree we don’t need the drama and I think any pick under 40 will be committed to either picking a kid, packaging to get up the order, Hately or points
Port on the other hand don’t really have anything to trade with at the moment. Most likely a player swap or a second rounder next year from them to get the deal done

I forgot, we have reached that time of the offseason where DMAC become's the public enemy #1 in BF.

Not going down this well trodden path

Surely to goodness after Thompson and van Berlo holding on for an extra year plus Douglas and now Mackay we're realising that "leadership" and "setting a good example" are nothing.

Can he play? Yes or no?

Should be applied to everyone on our list. No other considerations whatsoever.

Then your leaders emerge from those who can actually play the game.
