Langford is a plodder and a classic list clogger.
List plodder suggests he can't play AFL football to a suitable standard, he is a role player but nothing more. We treat ours like they are rolled gold though (see Laverde contract as an example)

his pressure will be enough for him to have a spot as a small forward.

Agree and we as a club need a lot more ROLE players.

The commentators don't talk up every single thing Redman does as though it's THE GREATEST THING YOU'VE EVER SEEN ON A FOOTBALL FIELD like they do with Rioli.

Shits me. Nothing about Rioli’s game was better than Redman as a defender. NOTHING

I would hazard a guess we need better top end talent. Shouldn’t be carrying the 4 - 6 role players a week like we do. Change 2 into stars and we would be much much better

No add 3 or 4 stars and another 3 or 4 role players. Role players can be good players and not just the bottom end like Geulfi.

I went and watched the Tigers live 4 times. Rioli was very good setting up their run and working up and back.

Touched on this in another thread with BrunoV and probably a point worth making here. I have been a big advocate of wanting medium forwards (to a lesser extent runners for defence as well), but looking through draft history and not many, especially early end up becoming the players they were advertised as in there U18 time.

A lot of us want Sheezel, I did at one point as well but starting to loosen my want and firming for KPF Cadman or a Hewitt / Tsatas / Wardlaw (if he slips) instead.

Get the main rocks in place for the list and fill in those 'X factor' types later when we are closer to success. Would be nice if the Davey bid came later than even we expect (I'm talking after 30) with the scope to potentially move a third pick ahead of this would be a most welcome outcome.

Who knows but really swaying away from that X factor type player, especially early, get the tried and true players in there chosen positions first. Wardlaw, Tsatas, Cadman, Clarke.

Davey or Davey could well be that sort of player anyway.

It feels like a lot to dedicate another 2 first round picks to forward line x-factor, given that is probably Perkins' best position.

exactly the reason I'm leaning towards steering clear of Sheezel.

3 players who play that similar style/type role is more than enough (Davey, Davey, Munkara possibly, Perkins already on the list)

I sometimes think you are over thinking it.
Sheezel from what I have seen is like a Rozee type. He has the forward x factor and speed but he is not just a 10 to 15 possession player. Has already player decent midfield time although he would be a forward who can play part of your midfield rotation
Davey will also play midfield in an outside role as he goes along.
Perkins is a very different player . I see him more in the style of a Steve Johnson type. Medium marking half forward with some X factor if he fulfils his pontential.
This is the first year I can remember that if all things are equal we could go in a few different directions and end up a winner. Ideally we need another pick or two inside the top 10 but not give up next years first.
I have no clear favorite. I could even be happy with Clarke if we went that way.
