I no mitta had 3 players selected in the training squad also, Nick Fraser, Chris Nelson and Alexandria Beggs. I also noticed the border mail article. How does that get past the editor? :)

That's not quite right MM. The initial 63 man training squad contained only 2 TDFL players. Derek Murray & Jack Rhodes. The clubs were asked to nominate players for potential inclusion in the squad. The selectors then picked the 63 man squad to train, and then cut it down to 22 after the training sessions. Jack obviously missed the fianl cut as he would've been up against heaps of quality midfielders, whereas Derek was competing for a specialist forward pocket position.

I think that MM might be referring the next squad - Nelson, Fraser and Beggs were called up recently about this but not for this year.

What do you mean, "the next squad" & "not for this year"?
What squad are you talking about?
How do selections take place for next year?

I will be sure to let the boys no, here they were thinking they were donning the big V for EJ Whitten and they are nothing but "next squadders"

nop how is shane borella travelling haven't heard much about him. he dominated in both of doggies reserves finals last year without much support from team mates
The inside gossip on Boonie is that he lost both his legs and a tooth in a horrible car accident. An absolute tragedy that we can't see such a talented footballer running around the ground anymore:p.

must be a great seasom if the border mail are more concerned about a mitta player going oversea's....how about they show someone from a team fighting for top 5 spot???? the border is always up with the goss......

so what's going to happen this week in the tdfl???? mitta easy over the saints.....can the doggies keep it going this week????

Good point Regg, I wasted a dollar ten to read about that pasty skinned midget. I demanded my money back at my local newsagent but no go. :D

I agree mm this thread is f**ked. Give us some news please people or even just talk shit. Its not like we all have lives to get on with!!!

Very true RS, big James has always been known for his turn of pace.;)

My question was more about him playing in the early game. Would have thought he'd be in the ones if he was right to play?
James has done his hamstring more times than Buckley this year so the coaching staff thought it might be a good idea to give him an easy game rather than risk him too much considering the finals are just around the corner.

Not sure KITM, selection is not my area. Maybe D Murray will also have to earn his spot back ?

And easy game it was for him too I believe, heard today the big fella kicked a lazy 5. Classy goals too I'm told.
For the record spottydog he has informed me that it was a calf complaint that has seen him sidelined and not the hamstring on this occasion. But you are right, the coaching staff like they have done with Brett James decided the right path back into the seniors is to get through a game in the reserves.
I think with his sterling 5 GOALS Derek Murray might struggle to come back into the team.

Could all Thurgoona news be moved on to their own thread? I hate having to sift through all the other news:rolleyes:

Blokes on here are complaining that this thread is close to death and when someone writes something you have a whinge!
For the record your second last post spoke of Franzy, mate Franzy plays for Thurgoona so can you please not talk about Thurgoona? You might get the sh1ts with yourself K.N.O.B.H.E.A.D!

If you're around Top Cat, could you have a chat to your football club and have that cheating redheaded maggot of a reserves umpire sacked? He's a disgrace and is an embarassment to your club. Rutherglen is a good club but won't be if they keep giving d1ckheads like him a job!
I have included a picture just in case you don't know who I'm talking about.

Pretty much shows how he umpired yesterday!
