They talked about Adams and Mitchell on AFL's AAA, and how fly is trying to add all these mids in, even in positions they aren't suited to. Like neither these players are half forwards or flankers.
Seems late to be having that discussion. They've been playing this role all year.

The idea is to be able to rotate two players through inside mid. Adams has actually been good up forward. One of the league leaders in goal assists, our 2nd most i50 tackles and our second best pressure forward. I don't think we have anyone to play his role better.

Lipinski has replaced WHE though, so hasn't really changed the mix too much.
I don't think that's right. WHE plays out wide. A combination of wing and the role that McCreery and Hill play when playing high half forward. Lippa pushes up to the edge of stoppage - much more corridor.

By playing these pure mids as forwards is you are taking away what they are good at, plus you are reducing a spot for an actual forward.
This is the bevo way to do things. Put so many mids even up forward when they aren't forwards. Lets play players in their natural positions, if you can't fit them in.. then so be it.
Adams has been decent at half-forward this year though?

Methinks this statement has the agenda of finding a spot for Ginnivan.

He has done pretty well overall, I agree.
He can play the role a lot more efficiently than Mitchell but still think in the middle is where he suits better.

Adams has been a superb warrior for the club but the upsides of his contested abilities have to be balanced against the downsides of continually giving the ball back to the opposition ...

You think the balance has changed now that his previously brilliant incisive ball movement has declined?

Adams was a lock when our contested options in midfield were limited which they aren't now..his turnovers should be weighing heavily on the match committee before September knowing that most premiership teams are able to execute, hit targets and minimise clangers

Anywhere where he can handball and not kick would work.
Happy for him to be in and under in the middle, dishing out to others.

But please stay in your lane Tay Tay, as kicking (unless for goal strangely enough) is not your friend.

Adams is a lock every day of the week.
Throw away that key 🔐

Same old comments on Tay, it’s been this way forever so I don’t know why people continue. He isn’t on thin ice and he isn’t getting dropped.
Tay Tay’s ice is thicker than Robbo’s fat head.

hard decisions have to made regarding best 23 and best chance of winning ...50 percent disposal efficiency to go with his 6 clangers doesn't make great reading ...medhurst obree Fraser and Lockyer probably felt safe in 2010 also
Three of his clangers were free kicks against.

What about his 9 coaches' votes in Rd 18 and 3 in Rd 19? How does that read?

Comparing Tay's position with three blokes who played minimal games in 2010 is a bit dim.

That's what I've been thinking.

It's just getting nuts. Calls to drop a bloke for a bad game despite him being at his 2020 All Australian form the previous two weeks.

To put it bluntly, Tay's best has been better than Mitchell's this year and more recent (just two weeks ago). If we decided to go with one inside mid he should be the one, though I expect both will hold their spot.

Has it really? Mitchell at his best has been able to provide multiple 30+ disposal 10+ tackle games. More tackles, clearances and disposals, less scores and less clangers.

This isn't true. His key stat, clearances has been inferior to Adams, comparing both as mids. His very first game was 10, he has also had two 8s quite early in the year. Adams had 9 against Power. The last full game where Mitchell had more than 5 clearances was his 8 against Carlton in round 10.

In my view Adams was much more impactful with those clearances, running with the ball and kicking (eg. 20 kicks, 5 handballs against Power) rather than handballing and not just quick hack kicks. His 9 coaches votes is more than Tom has recieved in a game.

Adams recent best form is clearly better than Mitchell's for mine. I'd also take Adams best over the year, but there could be more of a debate there.
