Pretty much, $6,700 in the bank. Convinced on loaded up midfield but feel thin down forward.

N Roo - not sold, Macrae or Green my other options.
Nank - Nank for ruck support, don't mind Steele in this spot.
I really Like this team, had almost the same midfield, however my backline was only 2 premos and Lloyd so I took one out of mids and into the backline

Can someone talk me into getting Steele? I'm very happy with my team but to get him.
Could go rocky to beams I guess

Only reason I'm thinking about it is because Barrett is still yet to be upgraded which means we're down yet another rookie. Bowes and SPS might get a run by default. SPS does have much better scoring power though but I doubt he'll score much this year, he'll play more as a small forward.
How's is strutting in though....must have been killing it on the training track!
He in I reckon...now to change me structure again.

Hey guys, any changes I should make? Thanks in advance

DEF: Doch, Shaw, Laird, Hampton, Stewart, Otten (Hibberd, Vickers Mills)

MID: Danger, Pendles, Treloar, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, Taranto, Powell Pepper (Baratt, Parfitt, Atley)

RUCK: Stef Martin, Witts (Strandica)

FWD: Roo, Dahl, Greene, Ryder, WHE, Houston (Pickett, Eddy)

$14K in bank!

An indictment on Carlton's list that a rookie with no preseason waltzes into the starting 22.

Never mind that bloody Billie Smedts is starting too.
Yeah it must suck for the other blokes to be left out for a bloke who is yet to debut. Kerridge is pretty stiffi reckon.

alrighty lads, here is my team for 2017 (rookies will change depending on selections)

Docherty: Gut feel, dont like any of the other options up the top. Think he could go 100-105 again. Could pick him up cheaper, but gut feel is making me pick him
Howe: Since his move to the backline, averaged 96 last year and had a run where he averaged 115 and about 24 touches and 10 marks. Think he will go 95+ this year. JLT form very promising
Cutler: My ultimate defence POD. Think he will breakout this year and go 90-95. Very nice kick of the ball and new coach might help him.
Marchbank: Wasn't so keen on him to start with but seems like the most solid option for D4. If he can average around what Weitering averaged before his injury, should make some nice cash before the first bye.
Hampton: JLT says it all. Adelaide's lack of midfield says it all. 80-85
Otten: Will rotate the remaining 3 rookies for the last D6 spot depending on opponent and form etc. Otten's form in the JLT was hard to ignore, despite the fact Lever and Cheney weren't playing.
Stewart: Mature ager who Scarlett loves. Can't see him NOT playing. Reckon we will get 70-75 from him
Smith: Its is him or EVW for that last spot. Will probs go with the guy who gets selected, although Smith's JS isnt that flash with Hibberd to come back in and he is yet to be upgraded.

Dangerfield: Need I say more
Pendlebury: See Danger. CANNOT BELIEVE JOBE AND MUM'S BOY ARE IN MORE TEAMS THAN THIS STUD!!!
Kennedy: Head says JPK, Heart says Hanners. This spot is still up for grabs. Reckon I will stick with JPK cos if I don't and he kills it, I won't be happy
Treloar: Gun, 115+ imminent
Fyfe: Underpriced gun. Should go top 5 mid this year. Not really worried about games missed as the others are so durable.
Mitchell: Ball pig. Will get 30+ most weeks and his contested style means good points to be scored. No JPK/Hanners/Parker to compete with. Can see 110+ easily
Petrevski-Seton: Will only pick if named. Otherwise Taranto. Haven't really considered him until now. Risky taking him without playing a JLT, but played seniors last year so wont be over roared.
Powell-Pepper: Already put down Hartlett, Wines and Burgoyne in his first summer. Kid is an absolute gun. Steal at pick 18 and will win the Rising Star
Barrett: Needs to be upgraded, otherwise locked. Spot open with Mathieson out.
Pickett: Slow burn rookie with DPP. Should play most games, score dependent on goals etc.
Parfitt: Could become anyone if not named.

Gawn: Think he will score well even with Spencer in the side. Think Spencer was a ploy just to rest Gawn in the pre season. Will probably go with him anyway since Spencer will be dropped after round 1 or 2.
Sandilands: Played 22 and 21 games in 14 and 15. Only missed last year due to NN putting a knee into his ribs. Not worried about calf or age. Has a great starting run as well. 5 out of 8 at Domain.
Strnadica: Perfect for loophole. Plays 11 sunday games and most are 3:20 or 4:40 time slot.

Riewoldt: Gun, 12 of the first 16 at Etihad and the Saints love it there. Will be more free to roam the wing with the emergence of Membrey/Bruce/McCartin and the natural improvement of the Saints. Not too worried that his average was boosted by his 187 last round last year. Think he will go 100+ with ease over this time.
Dahlhaus: Guy is arguably the Dogs 2nd best player. Reckon he is top 3 fwd this year. Consistency the worry though. Can go large some weeks and have a shocker the next. Hopefully he becomes more consistent.
Higgins: Gut feel pick again. Guy is a natural midfielder and will have a chance to play there a lot more this year. 95 i reckon.
Hoskin-Elliott: Kid is a gun when fit. JS not a problem now with JDG out for 7-8 weeks for his "dog" incident. Think he can make 150k easily.
Turner: He will play most games, will be a slow burn. Much like Menadue last year. Im ok with that.
Butler: Could also be Menadue 2.0, but think he will be a decent rookie.
Houston: Backing him to make it to the bye. Think he is good enough to hold his spot despite us having a few out that would have been best 22. Think a 65-70 average is what we would expect
Eddy: Guy is the most natural forward and can turn a game on its head in a matter of minutes (see 3rd QTR v Hawthorn). As all KPFs are, he will be a little inconsistent with his scoring, but a 65 average is probably what we would expect.

SO THERE WE HAVE IT LADS.

All good except for the rising star winner :)

Very detailed. While a little different to my team i don't mind it. Some definite P.O.D players that could be smokeys.
Cutler is on my watchlist, could be a very good pick for the reasons you stated. I live in qld and don't have foxtel so i watch the lions and the suns (2 out of 4 or 5 games) every week so have watched a bit of cutler. Like the look of him.
Howe scares me a bit. With Cloke leaving, he might be used as a swingman more but his form late last year was extremely good which makes him more tempting. A no for me though.
No ruck cover is a worry also.
Generally i quite like it except for higgins as the guy has burnt me so much over the years i still get cold shivers when i see him in teams. Does look a far better prospect this year but still can't do it.

Cutler!! I guessed correctly! :D

Nice writeup, solid team. Some choices I'm not a fan of, but hey, it's SC, that's why we all play!!

Best of luck legend :)

I like it mate, I'm not sold on Roo this year either I reckon Kennedy is a better bet. Im also not convinced on tuohy, he had a good jlt but his last 5 season averages don't suggest anything magical for 2017. really depends on his role across hb I guess an how loose he is allowed to roam

Great post. I like your team mate, nice to see your taking a punt with a few different selections down back. I like Howe as an option, I don't know much about cutler don't know if I've seen another team with him so could pull off if he delivers. Love the solid midfield enough said. Fwds, like it just not big on Higgins he has the talent to become a prem but seems to fall short, maybe it's his yr. with Strnadica, what does the term loophole mean??

I havent changed my team for 24 hours so I'm pretty confident in saying that it is settled

From the Backline. Ive gone rather big here.
upload_2017-3-23_0-33-3.png
Adams- More midfield time. Has the scope to be on of the top 3-4 defenders for the year, Will get a lot of midfield time for the pies. Injury the only concern
Laird- Very similar to Adams, should get plenty of the ball for adelaide playing as a rebounder and through the midfield. should average 100+
Howe- very impressive numbers playing as a defender last year for the pies. reckon he will average 98-102
Tuohy- Looks pigeon holed to take over enrights role at Geelong. Two massive JLT scores with large game amounts of game time. Wont be able to repeat it when the real stuff begins, but he should at least average over 90, which IMO will be good enough for premo status in the defense this year.
Marchbank- should be good for a 80-ish average. Better than a putrid rookie spewing out 50's and 60's and his job security is very appealing. Will still make some pretty decent Coin.
Hampton- No explanation needed, this bloke picks himself after his JLT series.

Otten- ive got questions over whether he'll hold his spot once lever returns, but he was a good scorer in the JLT and has been a good cash generator in the past.
Guthrie- Feel that he is more likely to get the nod for round 1 over stewart, and will be a better scorer.

I dont think its unrealistic to expect 100 from each of my premos here, and 80's from marchbank and Hampton. Projected backline score 560

upload_2017-3-23_0-47-24.png

Dangerfieid- The Most ruthless Midfielder in the comp, and will be either VC/C most weeks.
Selwood- looking at his scoring history lock him in for 110+ tough as nails.
Merrett- Biggest Pod in my midfield. I've wavered between him and Pendles, but i love the kid, and can't leave him out. Will take his game to another level again. Captain option when Essendon play at the MCG.
Treloar- Will take over from Pendlebury as collingwoods best player, is an absolute gun and pops up at big moments.
Fyfe- First Player picked. Lock him in now for a 120 average, and will challenge Dangerfield for the title of top scorer for the year.
Beams- He's in the Team until he gets injured. In the meantime he'll average 110+ and make you 100K. fingers crossed he might even last the whole year.
O'meara- Should be good for a 90 average. Will obviously be managed conservatively but at that price, he is too cheap to pass up.
Powell Pepper- Has already entrenched himself in the port Adelaide side. Should be good for a 75 average, but being such a contested bull i can see him playing the occasional blinder which nets over 100 points. Will look to carry For most of the season.

Brodie- watched him turn the game when Gold Coast played Essendon in JLT2. he's one of the less popular rookie selections, but i think he'll end up being one of the rookies that everyone desperately tries to trade in before the round 3 price rises.
Barrett- Cheap and should get plenty of opportunity at brisbane.
Parfitt- if He's named in the geelong squad he's in. Decent scoring for Geelong in JLT.

So the midfield structure is 5 super-premos plus value in Beams and O'meara, with SPP as the only on field rookie. Projected score 975 including Captain

upload_2017-3-23_1-10-27.png

Sandilands- Dirt Cheap for a ruckman with his scoring history. Injury is the Concern but i can afford to take the risk considering i have ryder and nankervis as coverage if he gets injured.
Strnadica- Floating donut for Captaincy Purposes. Will also Occasionally allow me to emergency loophole between Witts and my rookie forwards.
Witts- Has seemingly won over Eade. If he's playing each week as solo ruck his scores will crap over the rest of the forward rookies, who he as effectively been selected in place of. If he spuds it up and gets dropped, its not the end of the world, considering i have both ryder and nank that can cover for him until a suitable upgrade target presents themself.

Might be a bit optimistic here but a think these I can rely on these two to combine for a projected score of 180

upload_2017-3-23_1-17-47.png

Dahlhaus- was a tossup between him and Macrae, but in the end i just think Dahlhaus is a better player, and if one of them is going to get a sizable improvement it will be Dahl.
Ryder- Should Solo ruck at port, and will average 90 at a minimum. He's midpriced but im selecting him with the expectation that he's a keeper.
Nankervis- read above. I genuinely think he will average 90+ as solo ruck which is good enough to be a keeper.
Steele- Not as confident in Steele as i am in my other two forward midpricers, but if i dont start with him, it'll be impossible to get him in if he maintains his JLT form. His Style of play lends itself to scoring well in supercoach. At the end of the day if i have to downtrade him to another rookie, its not the end of the world.
Taranto- Best JLT scorer, and should score much better as an on field rookie than other forward options like butler and eddie.
Bowes- Bit of a POD rookie. Might be a bit of a slow burn, as he will ease into his career playing half back, but other rookies have shown this is a good position to get introduced to afl and still score well.
Pickett- Wont score very well, but should have good job security and will be a slow burn.
Eddy- Should have good Job security, even if his scores will be low.

Overall my Weakest line, but I think i should score pretty decently considering the relatively small outlay. Projected score 510

upload_2017-3-23_1-35-51.png

So that's my team and the rationale behind. I'm expecting this team to average 2225 until injuries inevitably screw my team and my hopes of a top 100 finish along with it.
