Shaun Grigg will miss the Elimination Final against Sydney with a calf injury while Shaun Hampson and Chris Yarran have both been omitted. Yarran travelled to Sydney with the team, along with the injured Matthew Kreuzer.

Sam Jacobs was named in the team last night and Richard Hadley and Andrew Walker have both been named on the interchange bench for the match. Joe Anderson, Steven Browne and Chris Yarran have been named as the emergencies for the game.

So yarran is backup for carazzo.

Pretty much new Jacobs and Hadley would be in for Hampson and Grigg. Thought Walks would be emregency for Carrats. No problem with the side picked.

Just gotta go out there now and play good tough footy and hit the lead early. We totally outplayed the swans after 1/2 time last time we met.

I cant imagine Carrots playing. I think Yazz will play and Carrots will sit out. Its too big a risk for mine. If he couldnt play out the last game, he wont play this one.

Yarran, Browne, Anderson omitted - Yarran Senior Emergency, the only one to travel with the Team.

* Apologies - didn't see the earlier post!

In: Kennelly Mumford Hannebery
Out: Meredith (inj) Reid Rohan

It will be a miracle if Carrazzo plays.

Yarran appeared confident of playing in that artcile about our post-Fevola forwardline. I'm not against Browne playing this week, but Ellard has taken his ideal role as a defensive mid. An in form Browne would give us a lot more than in form Ellard. Browne is more versatile and better overhead.

Walker and Robinson in the team ahead of Yarran doesn't sound right to me.

I know Yarran didn't have his best game last week, but he is more likely to hurt the Swans and create opportunities than Walker and Robbo, imho.

I don't see your point because Ellard is in form and Browne isn't.

Since when is Browne 'in form' anyways

Woo-hoo, Matty Kreuzer is a late inclusion!

A brilliant masterstroke by Ratts - 3 weeks of match fitness and Kreuze could be a very valuable weapon on Grand Final day.

I know this is unfair on the players and the club, but if Walker and Davies don't play blinders on sunday, i'll be ****ing furious

I'm devastated Yarran's not playing. Perhaps there's some truth to the rumour that Walker will be playing on the HFF. Hadley in for Grigg makes sense, and Jacob's inclusion does also. Yarran is such a classy user of the ball - just what you need against the Swans.

:)

Be surprised if Carrazzo get's up, the fact that Yarran travelled indicates a late withdrawl, reckon it;s Carrazzo,

Still peeved about Grigg, he;s been awsome.

One emergency always travels with the group Bluesque ;)

There is a possibilty there may be a late withdrawal.

Well that;s what I sort of meant Aph

Wouldn;t surprise if Carrazzo didn;t get up.

I'm hoping for a big game from Waite, in his first finals appearance, :thumbsu:

No surprises here same in for the same outs, nothing from left field Ratts is pretty set in his philosophies and now i hope they can win fingers crossed. Who will match Goodes.

Browne has never produced the string of performances that Ellard has over the past month. Ellard is miles ahead of Browne and is in the team ahead of him for good reason. :thumbsu:

Yes :thumbsu:

4. Billy-bob demonstrated last year that he was not going to be able to keep up with a team seeking finals success. He is to weak for the KPD and too slow for the small forwards. He is a good mark but poor spoiler (witness Armfield's broken nose in his last act in his last senior game against the doggies) and is unreliable under pressure. He was given two tries this year, in my opinion each try was quite unnecessary but was very generous to him having regard perhaps to his years of service. Like Brad Miller for Melbourne, Thornton can be best on ground as often as he likes at the level below, unless we are crueled by injury he should never be selected again.
5. If you believe the sentiment expressed above is unfair then please explain, by reference to a senior game he has played this year, why Thornton would be an asset to our defence. In contrast Walker has had several outstanding games, particularly against Geelong first time round. JA played a really good game against Melbourne and, (although I can understand fans being displeased with him) I think the jury is still out. Sometimes (i.e. not consistently) he does show he can play at the level with real speed, gutsy marks and strong tackles. Even Johnson (who I think is a mistake) has played well in patches - I particularly remember his game against Port as being mistake free and with some physical impact until he got injured. These 3 players at least are ahead of Billy bob for mine.
I'm in this camp! :p

No Yarran makes me cry. :(

I agree 100% Ellard has shown more in the last 4 weeks than Browne has in his whole career
