Carlton has made three changes ahead of its Round 16 match against Sydney at Docklands on Saturday afternoon. The Blues have recalled Heath Scotland and Chris Yarran, while Paul Bower returns after he injured his knee in Round 13. Scotland and Yarran have both been promoted from the Northern Bullants. Scotland last played seniors in Round 13, while Yarran returns for his first match since Round 9. Bower’s inclusion means that Adam Hartlett misses out on selection as does recently re-signed Dennis Armfield and Jeff Garlett.

Please someone explain to me how based on VFL form Yarran deserves a game ahead of Nick Stevens.

How can Bentley stay in.

Well I wouldn't want Stevens in, like that Scotland is back. I think with Bentley they want to give him a run and his bigger body might have also made them think twice about dropping him.

LOL I feel vindicated with the news Hartlett has been dropped ...

Great to see Bow-Wow back, although clearly they are going to give Carlos another week to heal !!!

Good to see Yarran back in the side, and Scooter ...
Why Bentley is still in the team though is a mystery, but other then that, fairly happy with that side, although i want big Irish back ASAP :D

very good selections. I'm very happy with this. It will be interested to see if Bower will play, if not Hartlett will get the call up again. Austin not in is a good thing as well for now as they are not particularly a tall side...

We should win this on recent for. They are our bogey side i know, but we are a class above them atm...

BLUES BY 28 POINTS :thumbsu:

Bentley on the other hand... He must be doing something absolutely special to vindicate his selection that we don't see... i really want to know what that is,

Where does it say that? All it says was that he was promoted from the Northern Bullants. Doesn't mention anything about form

well clearly the MC are suggesting his form is better. Based on the last game they played in the VFL, Stevens >>>>> daylight >>>> Yarran

And Ratten had said during the week, that Stevens and Scotland would have to impress on the training track, if they were to be selected. And obviously, Scotland did

Yarran deserves a game ahead of Stevens because he gives a shit and will put the team first before his own statistics.

Unlike Stevens who is a pathetic leader and in his 1 VFL game allowed his direct opponent to be BOG.

Stevens looks more likely by the week to be cut at the end of the season.

Bentley was OK last week and will continue to get a game until someone like Hadley or Bentick pull their fingers out.

So pencil Bentley in for a few more games yet.

Good changes but signals the end for Hartlett.

Great to have Bower back but I have a feeling he'll be a late withdrawal with Hartlett coming back in.

Jeffy has been stale and Yaz gets a run which is good to see.

Scotland in as well which helps our disposal out of the backline which we sadly have been lacking.

Armfield was a major culprit in this regard.

We don't need Armfield's pace against Sydney at Etihad.

Good changes.

Setants must still be sore :(

I have a feeling Hartlett will come in for Bower (no source, just the original prognosis for Bower's knee was 2-4 weeks)

If Harts doesn't get a gig, that's pretty disappointing. Not that I don't want Bower back of course.

Oh, and that may be the last we see of little Jeffery for the year. Tex back this week.

Bit stiff how hartlett got dropped while bentley and anderson stays in. hartlett played better than both and surely stevens would of been 10 times more useful than bentley.

Impression i get is that he is there to block/create space for Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, something they tried with Hadley/Bentick and didn't come off.

He's not the most skilled, but they like his work at stoppages,
and will find out if he is any good this week against Sydney,
who specialise at it

Like the side for this week btw.

To be honest i enjoy the ins. Will be nice to get another look at The Yazzman thats for sure, while Bow Wow is a very welcome inclusion. I don't mind Bentley having another game, did alright last week i thought. Hope to see JR get plenty of time in the middle like last week, quite impressed me. I can't remember the last time i saw him in the middle for a centre bounce.

Guaranteed late change coming up on Saturday. Bower is not 100% yet and Harts will get the nod.

You really don't think before you post, do you?

Stevens' direct opponent was BOG for the opposition in Stevens' last VFL game.

Stevens must have been fantastic

Yarran deserves his chance and gets to show what he has to offer.

Stevens doesn't deserve a spot in the seniors at the moment.

We know what he can offer but what he does offer is something completely different.

And until he rectifies that he shouldn't get another game in the seniors.
