And if we'd appointed him like that there'd be the calls of messiah complex, same old Carlton etc.

I remain unconvinced that Ross the Boss would have had us fairing much better than we are. If there's one thing that obvious by now surely its that this group are coach killers.
The one thing I will say about Ross is.
For better or worse he is the one in charge not the players.
If your not gonna play his way he will ship you off and get players who will irrespective of reputation

Can the same be said about Vossy ?

Imagine ending up with Voss instead of McRae, lol.
Yeah, imagine

Or RTB or clarko or even Brad scott ,basically anyone but Voss!!!
Even Longmuir?

Come on Saints supporters there is no need to rub it in.

I've had a look at the Carlton board tonight and they are still happy with Voss.

Happy if he was marched out of the door tomorrow morning and replaced by Ross.

Ross, really?

The great strength of Ross Lyon has always been his ability to restrict opposition scoring.
After watching the Bulldogs score 124 points against the Saints the other night, what redeeming features does Lyon have as coach?

Loyalty,
He’s given every single one of his mates a job at the club he now owns and runs …

If Ross Lyon got the Carlton job, he would have taken them to top 4 and a grand final. No premierships but I have no doubt Lyon would have been able to get more out of Carlton's list than Michael Voss has been able to.
Doubtful.

Could have got anyone you like in there and I think the result would have been largely the same, absolute coach killers this group.

I think this is the year pressure starts to come on Lyon, Clarko, Scott if steps aren't taken. The grace period is over.

The article today about the Saints suggests things are actually pretty good there and they are trying to grow the club with Ross a different cat from last time around. I think he gets more time.

Roos I don't think can afford to sack Clarko with the way it's all going. Feels like they need to trust the group, trust the coaching team and just aim for year on year progress.

Bombers I feel are in the worst spot with snake oil salesman Scott. They also resigned him which was a bit of a laugh as he's so full of it. In the same article he will say they are ready to compete for the flag then also hose down expectations saying they are a young team and that you can't look at wins and losses.

I'm not on the sack Clarko team at the moment. But I do think around year 3-4 is when you can start accepting that a coach take some of the responsibility. Some of the decisions such as still playing Comden as a defender and Mcdonald not being dropped despite being the worst 200 game player I have ever seen are really starting to wear thin.

Scott is very good at spin, soon as he started talking about "12 wins is the goal" when we had won our first 9 in 2016 I knew we were cooked.

I wonder if Ross reverts back to the older more defensive gameplan after this kind of flogging. He seems like a creature of habit.
