Well we have 3,26,50,79. How many picks do we actually have to make ATM with/without Stretch, JKH?

Frost, Garlett, Keilty (r), Lewis, Maynard, Smith (r) and Walker (rB) gone.
Tomlinson and Langdon in.

So the bare minimum 3 draftees at this point (plus two rookies), unless we pawn off or jettison a few more players. Curious to see if anyone gets elevated to the main list, as well.

nah I’m talking probably 87 here - Noiseworks were popular
I was 2, you’ve got me covered. But I do recall listening to oasis on tape that I borrowed from a girl at primary school. She was into me in grade 3! She drew an oasis wonder wall with me in it. I was so shy and embarrassed.

faark that is an awesome story dude

even 15 year old me would have been stoked

Majority of the good small forwards come later in the draft. Our development sucks ass, not the picks we use on them

Might get lucky later in the draft, but not sure our development is entirely to blame. The guys we do pick seem to get a goal a game if they're lucky in the VFL. Most of the time they get single figure touches and a couple of tackles. Our development does suck but I just think we've just plucked some mediocre players in those positions recently.

This is 1993. I am 8. She’s super confident (as they are), she also gave me a pocket knife and a massive candy bar lolly pop for Christmas. Her and her friend came over and I was so embarrassed. Super embarrassed. My old man gave me so much grief.

Never too late. Tell your wife she's no longer required and go chase that confident former 8 year old.

Edit: Should probably be a bit more careful with the phrasing there...

She went off the rails. Drugs and the wrong crowd. I think she’d had a kid by 18.

Probably all stems from the callous rejection of her sugary affection in her formative years.

Right but Betts, Garlett, Gray, Butler, Castagna, Milne, Fantasia, Walters, Miers, Puopolo, Breust, Papley etc.
You can endlessly list top quality small forwards who get taken after the 2nd round. We haven't taken enough in the draft nor been able to develop them

There are plenty of good ones taken in the late first and early second rounds as well, which is typically as early as they'll get taken unless they run through the midfield as well (Ainsworth at the Suns, etc). Butler is available for a kind word and a grilled sandwich at the moment so "top quality" seems a bit broad, and if Breust is a small forward, what's a medium forward? Does that make Jake Stringer a small forward? I'm not interested in a long and dull discussion on this, though, so whatever.

Yeah shock mate you can take good players anywhere in the draft. Point is good clubs can develop small forwards later in the draft.

Breust is a small forward

Breust is a small forward

You are a filthy Canadian and your countenance is sickening.

I thought draft picks were useless?

Breust is a lead up medium forward who also seagulls cheap goals out the back. He doesn't do much crumbing. Have you inquired about the crumbs?

I understand and am comfortable with using some late picks on *possible* small forward prospects in the draft.

I don't understand not using one of those same picks to *definitely* get a small forward.

But I also don't understand why people like mumble rap or why Goodwin likes having 15 inside midfielders rolling around together, so I'm probably just out of touch.

Every single draft pick is useless if you can't develop players you filthy Queensland dwelling jellyfish.

CRUMBED JELLYFISH, campaigner.

Wouldn’t mind seeing us trade pick 3 to GWS for 6 and their 2020 1st.

Take Young/Ash/Stephens at pick 6.
On draft night see if we can trade the GWS 2020 1st to get a pick late in the first round if Weightman is still available.

For GWS, they want Green. If Green gets a bid in the top 5 (which is likely) they are either going to have Green and a 2020 first, or Green and pick 3. Makes sense for them. Could possibly get a later pick thrown in too.
Yeh, pretty sure GWS will come looking for your pick 3 to get in front of Adelaide who tend to put bids in. They are pretty good to deal with too. They did a deal with Brisbane to move from pick 3 to pick 2 a couple of years ago.

I just asked for you.

Young not expected to be available at any of our picks. Ash without it being said, sounds like will be GWS’ pick if the picks stay the same.
Thanks for asking!

I’m a little worried that we are considering Serong because, by all accounts, he’s a player who wins the contested ball but is not a great kick. In other words, he’s what we already have.

I’m really hoping we take a half back/winger type with speed and good foot skills, such as Young or Ash, because I think that’s really what we need.

If that's true, then he's a lock for our first pick. If Goodwin has proven anything, it's that you can't have too many contested ball winners who can't kick.
