Draft Day is here

Unlike last year when the excitement of adding No.1 pick Harley Reid to our list was palpable (and also near certain), this draft is uncertain and viewed with equal parts excitement and trepidation

We go into the first night with pick 12, which is expected to slide to 15 after academy and Father Son selections and a lot of guesswork on who we’ll take. Or even if we actually use that pick with rumours circulating that we might trade up or back

Night two we have pick 26 (subject to change) along with a gaggle of late picks. Again, there’s the possibility of trading into the draft with another pick using one of our later future picks and even less certainty on who we might pick

The one near guarantee is that NGA product, Malakai Champion, will be an Eagle at some point over the next couple of days

So sit back and watch to see how the draft unfolds whilst praying we don’t do something stupid

The melts in this thread are hilarious. We turned pick 3 into a net gain for next season and beyond and in the box seat to get Chad Warner in next season. Settle.

In regard to Murhpy Reid that's exactly why i didn't want to take him unless left with no choice. They can say all they like in interviews about being happy to travel anywhere but wheres there's smoke there is fire and the word about him not wanting to travel has been around for awhile now and boy did he look gutted, Dad and mom looked gutted. Huge flight risk. Good luck with that Freo.

Whilst Bo Allan's disposal is pretty iffy i get a different vibe from him than i did with Reuben. He looks to attack the ball with a little more veracity so i have more of a hope we can transition him to a full time mid.

Banked an extra pick, took the home grown talent with zero flight risk and ****ed Freo twice.

That's about as good as i could have hoped for.
Brilliant summary. How would we all be feeling if Reid looked like that on stage holding a West Coast jumper? I reckon we’d feel pretty flat - that wasn’t the face of a bloke who’s playing 200+ games for Freo. This played out about as well as we could’ve hoped, all things considered.

Didn’t see the details as it happened dick head, so just asked why.
Get back in your box
What details are there to see dickhead?.We trade back 1 spot when we have 2 players we would be happy with and pick up 45. Not that hard but for a dinosaur that still thinks the draft is a complete lottery its not surprising.

Other issue is his plan to depend on the club helping him to settle interstate.
Seems like he's not a very independent person, which is forgivable at his age but projects differently to others that are sincerely happy to move away from home.
He said similar stuff the other day on the draft show.

On the flip side, if he is a gun, he plays 3 years then you back up the truck for offers from all the big Vic clubs (ala Cerra).

So pick 3 got us the following.

Bo Allen.
Liam baker
Matt owies
Pick 45

You have to be happy with that surely.

I think you're getting a bit worked up by someone asking why Port would pay 45 to move up one spot.

I mean, I was confused also, until someone mentioned Freo would've been trying to move up and we played Port against them.

His old man seems to like Crown towers.
Safe to say he wont bother looking for a permanent house and just stay at the Towers for 18 months until they move back to Vic?
