It goes to show where we are as a club atm when people are more worried about us doing something stupid then looking forward to getting a new draftee.

I’m hoping the talk about Hotton is due to us trading back in, not taking him with our first pick. If we trade hawks F1 for one of GWS picks and take Hotton then I’d be ok with that as long as got Reid or Lindsay with 12 already.

If it's anything like the draft "Warner would be an Eagle if Sydney won the Grand Final, but it's all good, I GOT US OWIES!!!" then neck away.
I didn't say i wouldn't neck myself, just that i wouldn't do it prematurely. I'll wait to see how we **** it up before doing so.

Listening to Mini on Gettable saying that WC will take the best available talent with their first pick...
Reminds me of the time I told my wife I was going to buy a nice 780HTP Barcrusher to go fishing and that I would need to upgrade the ute because I needed better towing capacity (Pick 3).

Wife then stepped and said I could but only if I bought her a BMW first.

She now has a crappy BMW X1 (pick 72) and I've ended up with a Pick 14:

Jasper the ESPN guy has us trading Hawks F1 and a F2 for 23… to take MATT WHITLOCK.

If that eventuated, the melts on here might rival the pick 3 split.
Jasper the ESPN guy isn't someone i'm aware of, and as a result imagine he has no inside knowledge. He's just throwing shit out given it hasn't been reported by more in the know reporters.

I hope we draft draft 2 tall fwds and pyke has no choice but to sack clarke. Missing out on Jagga and Draper will haunt us like the 2001 draft and freo

Is Clarke a dictator and noone else at the club has a single say in what he does?

Because that is what you are implying.

Which is clearly not correct.

Except you only get top line picks every so often.

And the AFL has basically destroyed the integrity of the draft.

Geelong, Collingwood havent built their lists with top end picks have they.

Have the Hawks? No.

How has Gold Coast gone with dozens of top 10 picks? Still yet to play a single final.

So the facts clearly dont support you negative view on how to build a competitive list.
Hawks haven't won shit . There top end talent is thin

Collingwood had daicos degoey Pendlebury, sidebottom , Moore, quainor
All top 10ish picks .

Geelong are the most advantaged team in the afl.

We have no such luxury to win a premiership interstate without a glut of top end talent .

Stop being an apologist for the club .

Why Jobe over Harry Armstrong?

Armstrong is more agile, great vertical leap and longer kick?

Stronger hands, takes the ball generally at a higher point, straighter long kick and has performed significantly better against men. (VFL and also local league) Also shown great leading patterns particularly from deep against men. A lot of those leading patterns tend to not show in the CTL or Champs due to the lower overall skill level and players not necessarily putting the ball to the forwards advantage as often.

This is my last post before the draft. I go into a long meeting in 8 minutes before we break for a few hours.

WCE pick will likely be around 5.20pm WA time.

I'll know the exact order of preference in an hours time. Pyke has had an input, I hope his input is laid down like the letter of the law as I know Massey's order.

Richmond will add that many to their list tonight

Not blaming anyone, just saying

I'd be investigating whether he's trying to get fired and get a payout, only to pop back up at Richmond in a nice gig with a stacked young team he helped rebuild. The ultimate trojan horse experience
That's right up there with the wildest conspiracy theories like flat earth and global warming.

Who are Phil's faves in the draft?
Sign Of The Cross Omg GIF by NEON
Taj Hotton and Jack Whitlock

Hello papa Phillip.

In four hours I will post three shrimp emojis. Your correspondence will proceed as follows:

Like = Reid
Heart react = Shanahan
Laugh react = Hotton
Surprised react = you want to go out for dinner with me
Sad react = Hynes
Angry react = Berry
Dislike react = Trade

Have a lovely long meeting, I will see you here.

If we traded out Duggan (Baker) and Reid (Bolton) we would hold 7 picks too tonight.

Was possibly a bad test, I’ve watched a lot of him and he’s not that slow. He’s not Draper pace either but he’s certainly not a plodder.
Its such a short test with no room for error, I'm surprised its just one attempt rather than taking the average across numerous attempts.

Slightly slow reaction or a misstep can be the difference between 3.0 & 3.2. Suddenly "burst of speed" becomes "trickle slow".

I disagree, Jasper is pretty good at what he does.

Twomey has also said we’re trying to get back into this draft with the Hawks F.
