Johnson listed as a def on our site.

Hope is Long develops as a bal mid like a Zorko / Neale sized mid.

Chesser becomes a bal mid, he has the size. I'd like him training with the inside mids and rotating through there next season. Just let the kid football.

Maric is a tall utility across all three parts of the ground.
Chesser as a balanced mid my ar$e. That is a pipe dream that will never eventuate. He does not have the football iq. Hopefully the last of the Pieman’s impact of athlete over footballer. Watching him live, he is confused where to go and what to do. His only hope is as a run and carry hbf

Johnson has it all to be a winger

Maric - agree he could be in all thirds of the ground

Ten of the first eleven picks are owned by 5 Melbourne based clubs - it’s not like he’s particularly at risk of having to move very far from home

That said, if he’s still undrafted when Richmond’s picks 10 and 11 roll around it might be squeaky bum time for him if he’s keen on staying home - the next 5 picks are all non-vic clubs

If he was there at our pick, I wouldn’t be upset if we took him. Back ourselves in to make him comfortable over his 3 year contract

And he’s another Reid with a surname for a first name - Harley, Archer, Murphy

Would that make Reid the most popular Eagles surname, if the latter two make debuts?

Harley, Archer, Murphy, Zach, Phil (different spelling).

Maybe make a play for Riley for our AFLW team

Ah, so you're in the we're going to lose every game next year camp. Fair enough.

Here's me thinking, why would anyone say anything about last years draft once the season is underway? If we win a few home games and avoid thrashings away I'd expect Don Pyke has a statue erected at MR Park by May. Glass half full I guess.

With Tasmania joining the AFL in 2028, reports are they will be "quarantining" players in the VFL in 2027.

This means the 2026 and later drafts are likely compromised due to Tasmanian concessions. The value placed upon trading these future picks 2 years in advance will be significantly less than the current value of future picks, because a lot of teams' first picks may be in the 20 or even as late as the 30s.

12 months ago the 2024 draft wasn't seen as a deep draft, a lot can change over the offseason and the media are going to hype up every draft.

Future 1sts and 2nds are going to be even more valuable, and there is a strong argument to strengthening our 2025 hand even more given we will want to bring in youth and trade for the Warner Bros. Sydney has 3 academy players linked to the 2025 draft

I think 2025 top 10 picks next year are more valuable to the Eagles than its current first pick. If you look at the article below, the eagles are well placed next year, especially if the Hawks do not improve.

Chances are that Melbourne will finish bottom 6 again and I have a feeling Port Adelaide may also slide, so getting their F1 picks off Essendon and GC would go a long way.

I'm more excited by the "depth" of the draft and by the gems we will uncover in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds.
