This is a big result. Evans and Walley we have first access to and Rodriguez, Curtin will be in our pick range if we lock up Clarke.

Surprised by the selection of Evans. I would have thought both Banfield and Kelly were in front of him in the pecking order.

Or they live rent free at a host family for a year.

What part of the country doesn't have stupid home prices?

Geelong and Tasmania.

An 18 yr old starting on $90k is pretty decent compared to every other kid.

Perth is less affordable than Melbourne now. Carrol is From Geraldton possibly doesn't have any family in Perth. Not sure the club would send a mature age recruit in with a host family, or that a 21 year old would want to do that.

Don’t we have the lowest median home price from the 5 major cities?

Geez kid must be good if they named a mountain after him

Many clubs held the view that future second and third round picks held little value due to the compromised nature of next year's draft, especially when lined up to those same picks in this years draft.

And the upside for us now is that the second favourite for the flag next year may slide and these picks become worth something.

I don't think it's anywhere near as bad for Hawthorn as you're making it seem.

Second favourite for the flag.

What a joke.

They just made finals for the 1st time in how long?

Their midfield isn't experienced enough ough nor has the quality to match the top sides.

They lose Newcombe or he has a poor year they won't make finals.

I’m very concerned about the look in Clarke’s eye when asked if he was looking to trade up in the draft when he said “absolutely”…

We better not do something dumb. Again.

12 and F1 (HAW) for 7 and F2 (STK) is about all I can handle and only because it gets Travaglia.
Clarke's motto sell low buy high

Never heard of this site before, but this is an interesting read

The issue is whether Pyke realised how badly it was handled or whether he was too close to it and is biased.

Surely the board will have seen what occurred and have Clarke at least informally on notice.
Pyke is a ****ing moron how do people not know this ?

He thought the power stance was a good idea and don't get me started on the critical minds camp he sent his players on after they lost the GF

Whether or not the Barrass deal is good or bad will be entirely based on where the Hawks finish next season.
100% it was a small brain move to be forced into taking future picks .

Sure if the hawks shit the bed next season it will be ok but if they finish around the same that pick will be near 20 in such a compromised draft

You must be joking.

Not to get sucked into what is a good place to live and what is a shithole after stirring the pot last Friday, but, "Houses" in Perth are $90k cheaper than Melbourne. Median price comes down for all dwellings due to number of unit and regional dwellings comparatively. They are also cheaper than Brisbane and Adelaide.

Housing costs ultimately drive a lot of cost of living, but there are other factors. For the states comparatively

So all in all, should be able to sell Perth as a relatively affordable place to live. Just have to target players that want the lifestyle.

What!!! Oh man, you've come out with another classic today. He was the next Shuey, and looked very bit of it too.

I’ve forgotten him ever playing any good sort of game but can still see his train wreck of a collision which showed the courage he had to keep his eyes on the ball and compete..
