How would we feel if we picked up Lindsay (TT gone) then used Hawks F1 to buy back in for Murphy Reid?
I'm surprised more people are not suggesting trading the Hawthorn F1/F2's for another pick this year.

Everyone here seems to think Hawthorn will finish well, so why not try to trade them now? Surely there's some academy or FS picks coming up next year that other clubs want points for?

Those 2 picks wont get us ahead of our original pick, and after our first pick there arent many great options for us for a bit.

We would be looking at GWS or Sydney as options to deal with, its not really great value unless there is a specific player we want that slides, like Murphy Reid potentially.

Lots of reasons why you wouldn't trade Hawthorn's future picks into this year:
  • Future picks hold less value than current picks, so you have to overpay.
  • List building is a long term endeavour, nothing wrong with taking a strong hand into 2025.
  • If Warner requests a trade we have the capital to trade for him right off the bat.
  • We still don't know how our F/S and NGA prospects will shape up for 2025. Going into 2025 with so many draft picks means we don't need to fight other clubs to split our picks for points (and by all reports there will be a lot of bids needing to be matched across all the clubs).

Pyke is a ****ing moron how do people not know this ?

He thought the power stance was a good idea and don't get me started on the critical minds camp he sent his players on after they lost the GF
Gave him a free pass myself and said nah not all his fault regarding adelaide, after the embarrassing press conference with Simmo and the shit show of this year's trade period I'm starting to wonder if we've employed the right bloke.

Hawthorn F1 at best might get us 21(GWS), (22)Sydney or 23(Richmond) but that on it’s own being enough is debatable

Probably too late for the likes of Reid, Hotton or Berry but maybe Hynes, Oliver or Dattoli are still there. Are they worth trading back into the draft for?

If Hawthorn make a prelim then probably yes, but if they slide and miss finals we’ve traded away a top 10 pick

Think I’d rather keep both the F1 picks we hold and use one of our F2/F3 picks to get another pick in the 30-50 range where there will still be some good options

Pick 12,26,30-50 somewhere plus Champion and another late draft pick or rookie pick makes 5 draftees

Burgiel trained today so likely he gets brought back on the list at some point

Leaves one spot to be filled likely from assessing players as train on options to be added as a SSP

The way it's starting to look, we might only need an F1.

If he slides to pick 20 maybe lol.
If hes there at Freo or GWS picks we might be able to give them hawks f1+f2 for that.
Dogs wont give up their pick 17, im sure theyd just take Reid at that point anyway to continue replenishing their midfield

We didn't have Hawkes future 1st until the last half hour

Correct but that was mostly from our doing as we were so busy playing mr nice guy with the Tigers and Baker getting the trade done earlier than needed. Instead if we had played hard ball with baker and seriously pushed the PSD line and left it to the last stages (like we did with Barass) we could have easily engineered the trades so the Barass one got done and we dealt that pick for Baker. We were just obsessed with honouring the Baker commitment and it screwed us. I also think Clarke's existing relationship with Tigers and Baker also screwed us. Hindsight is 20/20 but Pyke should have stepped in and done the negotiating on Baker as it was clear Clarke wasnt impartial or acting in the clubs best interest. He was taking Baker and Tigers interest too much into account imo. Admittedly Clark had been there for 10years and only left a couple of months ago so it would have been hard for him to really out negotiate his old boss and old team.

What's the knock on him? Just his lack of pace?
Lack of pace and size means he might not be suited for a midfield role long term. Sounds great other than his physical attributes.
Flight risk sounds real too(just from media and random talk on here/twitter), so all the non vic clubs from pick 12 to 16 may skip him, if he gets past Richmond at 11 that is.

Frame and foot speed.

Similar to why Jagga might fall to [emoji6]-[emoji[emoji6]] despite having the best year comfortably.

I don’t think Reid slides that far but it is looking increasingly likely he’ll be there at .

Is it just me or does TerryFilk's posts display strangely for others as well?

Instead of actual emojis and numbers I get numbers like keyboard buttons and emojis as [ emoji640 ] etc.
