Fair chance it’s because Twomey doesn’t really have any real insight into what we’re doing

He linked us to any of Allan, Lindsay, Reid, Berry, Travaglia, Hotton, Shanahan and even a Whitlock with pick 12 which indicates he’s guessing like the rest of us
But has he linked us to Bock and Gunston? If so, he's in the know.

Murphy Reid has class but most importantly the believe to win ground balls in some form. For his size he tries really hard to win it/be first to get the ball.

I'd take him over Lindsay for that reason. In fact I'd consider Murphy reid the best out of Xavier Lindsay and Harvey Langford.

You can't teach desperation and Murphy has it in spades

They always bang on about Reid's size, but

Lombard 178
Ashcroft 179
Reid 180
Smith 181
O'Sullivan 182
Draper 182
Lindsday 183

F*** are they talkin' bout, Willis?

TT also has that desperation and is hard as nails.

Eh, I disagree.

I think application and a severe lack of intensity is why Reid won’t go higher, he’s easily the most composed player in the draft and has some of the best hands I’ve ever seen, but he gets pushed out of contests easily, isn’t the quickest despite being small framed and doesn’t exert any energy whatsoever defensively or pressure wise.

Did you see the final game of national championship. He ran to the ball and tapped it desperately to keep it in. Many instances where other players wouldn't have gotten the ball he made something of it.

3:05 onwards

He even looks likes Travis Johnston. Remember him? campaigner looked like he was homeless.

Don’t want to be bringing everyone’s depression on early, but Everyone saying Carlton’s pick 3 will forever be compared to our 12 (and Baker) are forgetting there’s 9 players between from 3-11 that we could have the choice of, that could be superstars that we may have preferred.

I did and that’s a nice moment, I’ve also watched nearly every game he has played this season and his complete lack of intent was almost always evident, he’s incredibly lazy off the ball.

Yeah, I don’t get why people act like it’s whoever gets picked at 3, what’s scary is there’s likely to be a few guns just after pick 3 as well.

Jagga, FOS, Draper, Langford, Smillie etc. hard to see 1-2 of them not making us depressed, lol.

I really hope FOS and Draper both turn out to be spuds, because after 3-4 years Owies and Baker will be gone and that's going to sting them training standards bruv.
Never gets easier to stomach it. If FOS is available at pick 3 I’ll be livid because we likely wanted him and only traded 3 because we thought there was no other way to get Baker, not because we thought it was a value move.

In other words, we sold the future because one of the boys wanted a job back home to finish his career.

Honestly **** the blokes that signed off on that trade.

But if you follow that logic, you also have to include the duds we could've picked had we kept it. Its the same logic as saying thank god we traded pick 2 in 2022 because we might have picked Tsatas if we kept it
(he might still turn out ok, just highlighting a point btw)

If we had kept 3 we would still have to make one choice. It's unrealistic to expect a club to pick the best player available all the time, and even more unrealistic to expect the recruiters everyone on here bags all the time to do it.

Because you only get one crack at it at the time and don't get to pick in hindsight

Unless our recruiters come out afterwards and say "this is who we would have actually picked at 3" the best measure is who actually goes at pick 3 (or whatever Carltons pick becomes)

If we offer our Hawks first rounder next year to Richmond for pick 10 and see if they bite
If they don't deal with North they might be amenable to having another first round next year
Depending on where Hawks finish could be a worst pick than ten or a much better pick than 10

if not no loss and keep what we have if they want more we just walk away

A F2nd would be needed as well, likely ours.

For the right player I would do that.

Or we throw our 2025 1st on the table and see if Melbourne, Richmond or the Saints make an offer.
