I'd be happy with Reid going by write ups and external rankings of the bloke, but remember he's potentially sliding for a reason.

Watching him though, he doesn't pass the eye test of an AFL mid for mine. Looks and moves like a forward. Small, one paced and potential HFF/FP fodder in our team IMO.

Don't think you'd find many people complaining on draft night if we called his name out though. Might not have a CV as stacked as Lindsay's but he's got some quality traits to his game which would be handy in our team.

Very likely that none of this draft will impact in the midfield next season, why are people mad that those available at pick 12 might not start in the middle 😂

Same with writing Ginbey off as a mid after 30 games, fools that don’t know football.
Rueben won his Rising Star nomination for his midfield effort in the '23 round 3 derby. He played to a losing ruck against, possibly, one of the top 5 midfields. We lost by 7 goals.
His stats, in just his 3rd game, were 20 disposals, 8 tackles, 6 clearances and 13 contested possessions.
Methinks there could be a future midfielder there somewhere but happy to see him on a back flank gaining football smarts alongside Gov.

I would feel very uneasy with Taj Hotton. Not saying I wouldn't like him or he's not a good choice but I would feel very uneasy. I don't want another chesser occurring.

1. Murphy Reid
2. X Linday
3. TT
4. Melt

Cal Twomey's Phantom Draft: Top 30, late picks, whispers - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1256531

Urge to kill rising. We gave up Sid Draper who by cal twooney leaks would be 100 percent available at 3

Omfggggggg gtfo wce

Are you shitting me. If tigers don't go one tall we have nobody.

What the ever living ****. Durr we get a mid slider neck min they are all ****ing gone.

Armstrong at pick pick 14 for tigers could easily be Murphy Reid leaving us with nobody

Cals final phantom's are normally pretty accurate at this point, hopefully this is once again the case.

To pickup a talent rated top 5 for the majority of the year (until now bizarrely) after pissing away pick 3 would be a great result.

Probably won't happen now and we'll get Berry, amirite.

He seems firm that neither Travaglia or Allan are getting through. Tigers considering both at 6 let alone 10/11

The big call for Richmond is do they look at any quality rated talls at all in the 1st round.

They have so many picks they can pick them up at any stage but do they want a highly rated KP player?

While I see Ruben as well short of AA level, I felt he was playing in defence as a developmental step towards a solid mid role, rather than a career change.

Seen a phantom with us trading with GWS pick 19 (after bids) for Hawks F1. Maybe if we are keen on Hotton and he's still there at 19 it could be worth it. GWS are pretty likely to trade one of their first rounders.

If we come out of the draft with
Reid (12)
Hotton (19)
Trainor (30)
It would be the go home 3 lol but plenty of talent

It would be Trainor at 19 not 30 IMO.

He was touted as a top 10 pick prior concussion issues.

I cant see why Richmond would take a tall at top 10 given how many will be stacked up for them in the early 2nd round. At 18, 20 and 23 they could easily 3 of Whitlock/Whitlock/Armstrong/Shannahan/Trainor/Faull/Dodson

If you go past our pick you got

Port to take Shannahan/Armstrong/Whitlock
Freo to take Berry/Hotton
GWS to take Hoton/Berry + Armstrong/Whitlock
Bulldogs to take someone like Hannaford/Dattaoli

Then Richmond have

18 to take say Whitlock
20 to take say the other Trainor
23 to take Dodson

Even if 1 or 2 of those are gone they can then fall back on Faull/Trainor anyway

TLDR - Richmond are taking Allan at pick 9 and TT at pick 10

2 days and about 2h30 minutes until I can comment.

If it all plays out as it seems I would be a very happy man.

PM me hon.

I love how all of our potential options are disappearing one by one.

First it was FOS and Draper.

Don’t worry kiddies, we split but we will still get Allan or Lindsay, maybe even Travaglia.

No sorry, scratch that. Now it’s Reid, Hotton and Berry. 😂

I’m just thankful we’ve nailed our midfield rebuild and can afford to just take the best of what’s left regardless of position.

27 year old Hobbits with Mullets playing in the back pocket are worth top ten picks anyway so we should just be thankful we get to draft anyone really.

Hopefully we can be really shrewd and trade the Hawks future first and our future second for a pick in the mid to late 20’s too. Then we’ve really nailed it.

Alls well that ends well.

Not having a go at you, but similar was said before the GF

How’d that work out for us

It’s been that sort of trade/draft period where best laid plans haven’t come to fruition

Guess we’ll see what happens Wednesday/Thursday

If I was a betting man I'd put a very large sum on us having Reid & Allen on our list after the first day of this draft.
Only way we do that is to get rid of our F1st + F2nd type deal which would just be insanely dumb

All these fairytale endings people have can only occur if we do something dumb to create it im afraid. We are better off to just clench buttcheeks, try and get 1 more top 30 pick and deathride Hawks into the 2025 draft

Jokes on you.

That 27yo mulleted hobbit is earmarked to play in the backline.
