Reliably taking meters is basically the attribute that most appeals to me about Travaglia, but my skepticism remains about the fittingness of a backward of centre player without elite footskills or ground ball game.

Funnily enough M.Reid is sort of the exact opposite; everything is deft, short-chain and releasing.

I assume you're talking about Allen? He's express leg speed and got a long kick, plus he's hyper competitive.

Not sure Hotton injury matters too much for 2025 atleast. He ain't playing AFL anyways with his body size so give him time to build up anyway

I'm a bit inclined to trade down to 19 and 22 from Swans though if we down to Hotton . We can guarantee Trainor and then go for a Cooper Hynes. Swans would like a top 12 pick I think to target the best kpp available so theyd be interested too

I'm nit picking here but

Murphy Reid is the only guy befitting of number 3 and being the Chris Judd to our number 9.

That number 3 was meant to go to siddy.

I don't see Bo, Xavier or TT befitting of wearing number 3

My best scenario:
15 travaglia
26 + hawks f2 live trade Hynes
Hawks f3 best available KPB
72 Hayes
Champion with junk pick or falls to Rookie

Next best
15 Lindsay
26 + hawks f2 live trade Oliver
Hawks f3 best available KPB
Champion bid

My guess for draft night
15 Reid
26 boxshall
Hawks f2 Dennis
Malakai bid

I have a feeling Baker has the number 3.

I’m so sick of trading down. It seems to be the only thing we do in drafts. I just hope one TT/Allan/Lindsay or Reid is there. Shirley one of them makes it through 😬

St Kilda pick 8 up for offers to split the pick .

Our pick 12 + F2

For

St Kilda pick 8 + F3

I'm sorry mate i've had this discussion 12 + Hawks F1 is the minimum for pick 8 and it's probably not the best offer they will get. Other clubs are valuing the Hawks pick on the basis that they do well next year so 15-18.

With St Kilda fans raging at Tobie and Taru.

Can somebody mock what occurs if
St kilda don't pick taru (leaving taru failing to our pick) and tigers don't pick a tall/berry

Neither of their answers filled me with much confidence TBH.

They both 100% tick all the boxes as a typical Sandringham Vic metro flog that wants to stay in Vic... That's just a pattern.

Stiff shit. National comp boiz. We got ya for 3 years. 3 years of playtime.
A large majority would prefer to stay home, even more so Vic Metro boys due to the percentages saying they would be likely to do so.

Some are more open than others and you can tell. FOS compared to Murphy Reid. Doesn’t mean they won’t stay, right club and place you never know.

Hawks picks needs to be kept for sure. Worth more to us death riding them and hoping for a top 10 pick than it will be in a trade.

I’d be keen on trading our F2 for something this year though. As we’ve seen the last 2 years it can balloon right out past 30 so trade it while it still has value, and with NGA and FS prospects next year I think we’ll be alright for ins.

Why did we so readily trade 3 if top 10 picks are so hotly contested? Is there a chance we could have split the pick multiple times and hoarded late firsts/future picks?
Because old mate overcommitted for Baker.

Feel like we could have done both if we played our cards right from the start.

Also think this is why “trade period” should be an all inclusive period right up to and including the draft. You get hamstrung by having to trade for players first and lose all sorts of creativity with picks. If we were able to split 3 a couple of times and then trade a pick for Baker I think most would have been happy with that.
