So if we miss on Warner, is a dream draft next year Rodriguez and then Curtin in the first round?

Understanding there's a lot of water to go under the bridge.
The dream would be all 3

Draft Freddie and Curtin

Use 2026 and 2027 F1 for Warner (may need a pick coming back)

If OA goes too, we could have CW, FR and SS

I'd miss the big fella but 5 is fair, maybe triggers for a 6th

Could be one of those win/wins for all involved
Oscar is one of my favourite players but I'm having these exact thoughts

Greggo HEwards/Bazzo Hough
Ginbey Reid Allen
Johnston Warner Swadling
Hewett Jilliams Hutch/Maric
Long Shanahan Dewar
? Reid Rodriguez
Hall, Davis, Curtin? Curtin?

I could see this team doing some damage, potentially get some come homes like McVee/Rivers down the track too.

Don Pyke on the golf course with Chad Warner on the weekend 👀

The thought was we should get 14 and a future first as well.
I am not unhappy with what we ended up.
The hope was 14+F1 but realistically most pundits with a good grip on the trade value thought 14+F2 would be where it landed.
In any case F1+F2+F3 for Barass was, at the very least, a break even trade. I think most Weagles fans thought we ended up getting the better of the Hawks there.

no Waterman?

Kieran Jack’s role is unambiguously an off field one looking at the club’s investments given his finance background since leaving football. You won’t see him on the training track

Harry Taylor’s role as a leadership consultant was a bit more vague and left the door ajar for him being more involved with the football side of things. Him being out there during training at the start of preseason isn’t new as I did see him out there a couple of times late last season

You think he's an elite player? 5th in the spoon winning team would indicate a pretty middling, maybe above average player. Graham and Owies are unquestionably middling players.

I would rank baker as about the 11th best player at WCE next year (assuming player fitness). We are not a good team either. Would you rate him different relative to the below?

1
Gov
2
Waterman
3
Reid
4
Yeo
5
Allen
6
Kelly
7
Hough
8
Duggan
9
Ginbey
10
Ryan
11
Baker
Ask a Tigers supporter to now rank that list and I think you would get a very different outcome.

B+F's are not the be all and end all of footballing ability. I may underate him, but perhaps it would be more constructive to tell me who he should be above in the list?
1Gov
2Waterman (ridiculous you have him at 2 after 8 weeks of decent footy for the first time in his career)
3Reid
4Yeo
5Allen
6Kelly
7Hough (Plz)
8Duggan (Poor man's Baker)
9Ginbey (Any risk of getting a kick? Any further risk of kicking it to someone when he does?)
10Ryan (Generally you have to be able to stay on the park to be rated a decent consistent player)
11Baker

Would have him rated 6 behind Reid, Yeo, Gov, Allen, Kelly (in no particular order).

Another draft will be here before you know it!

One of my absolute favourites in the 2025 draft crop is Fred Rodriguez from WA. Slick and clean with his hands, able to gather difficult ball below his knees. Elite skills off either side of the body by hand or foot. Attacking instincts to burst forward into dangerous space. Strong running power on the outside.

He was excellent at the Champs as a bottom ager, one of WA's best for the tournament. Here we see most of his game on full show, although his left foot was a little less lazer sharp than usual.

His left foot was pretty bloody good in the Futures curtain raiser before the GF.

So much so I thought it was his preferred foot from the bits and pieces I watched live on the day. Went back and watched his highlights afterwards and only when I saw him take a long kick down the line from a mark did I realise that he is in fact a natural right footer.

Looks a very exciting talent and I’d love to nab him in the draft next year.

So I've been watching a lot of videos of our new draftees and I'm now convinced we are winning at least three premierships this decade.

Happy New Year GIF

Get excited people!

What a nugget

Baker is a 10-12 in a premiership side. 6-8 in your list. 2-4 in Richmond’s list. He’ll go alright at WC as he’s an honest footballer who gives everything. Can also do some nice things and is very good when the game is in the balance.
