Nope.
I support every one of Goodesy's actions to the hilt (as you might have guessed), but I see no evidence so far he'd be any good as a politician.
A successful politician has a very specific skills set. It is extremely hard to define, but my hunch on what I've seen so far is that he doesn't have it.
Agree that he couldn't be any worse than most of the current crop though!
No idea what he will do on retirement. Behind-the-scenes community work is my guess.

Goodes isn't dividing the nation he is however strongly highlighting that the nation is already divided.

i do not accept your assertion. the lives lead by peoples of all colours and backgrounds is such that any 'divide' you speak of is a meaningless construct. life is a continuous spectrum of people all in individual circumstances. this 'divide' you speak seems to serve no purpose outside of rhetorical speech acts.

it's not the "one thing" at all. you can rationalise it all you want, and you can redefine 'bullying' and 'abuse' to mean anything you want it to. let's redefine everything at the footy to be abuse if it isn't loud cheering. no one will be hurt then. now we'll know that anybody not cheering loudly enough is an abusive bully.

according to wikipedia, booing entertainers has a long history going back to ancient greek times. i can't imagine the number of entertainers, sports people, politicians or umpires that have been booed since then. but tell me how the case of adam goodes AOTY 2014 is unique in history?

For mine our club were scheduleded to play an indigenous club in our league yesterday. I am so very proud to say our committee extended the hand of friendship and invited them on our home ground to perform the indigenous war cry before the game as a stand against bullying and a show of solidarity.

the media has a lot to answer for. it makes me sad that your committee felt that this was even necessary. the media have created the 'racism undertone' narrative. they are the damaging f**ktards.

Does that figure alone demonstrate that the police, courts and the government are systematically targeting males, and anyone who dares disagree is sexist and ignorant? [hush, MRAs, that is a facetious question]

Or, perhaps, is there a pretty solid, if tragic, basis for such an overrepresentation of indigenous people in the NT prison population?

Nope, nothing is Adam Goddes' fault.

I'm sure once he's retired and we all move forward into 2016, Indigenous players will continue to be booed for 'racial' reasons, yes? No!

I'm all for progressing the Indeginous community, there's just simply no logic in what Goodes has done this year in terms of helping. He's created a divide rather than doing what we all want, bringing everyone together.

The odd ignorant racist will exist forever, plain and simple. What's progressive is taking the high ground and ignoring it, not branding everyone with the same prejudice view with an intent to shame people from expressing none racial judgments.

I thought it was common knowledge the elite transfer entitlements and freedoms from the indigenous in other parts of Australia to Sydney through a unfair tax system and government/regulated market measures which favour residents from overseas and in Sydney to propel the Sydney property market isn't it?

Naturally Goodes must be seen as a hero to them so they can put down indigenous elsewhere via their locational ponzi scheme supported by national broadcasts of mainstream propaganda produced in the Sydney basin and nearby.
