Is there a real lack of darker beers around in the bottle shops at the moment or have the ones I've been going to just gone to crap?
I resorted to ordering a couple of cubes of Eagle Bay Cacao Stout online from the brewery.

What have you tried? I think it's probably breweries still in Autumn mode. Winter weather arrived early this year. There's still red ales coming out instead of the seasonal stouts we're chasing.

I dunno, I've been looking for anything tbh but I have only tried a few places in Ellenbrook (who normally do have a few to choose from) and around where I work. My local normally has Colonial Porter which has been my go to in the cooler weather the last couple of years but they haven't had any.

If you're around that way perhaps try the Cellarbrations in Ashby

I live in Bindoon so I usually only go close to where I'm shopping (or working).
All is good, my stuff from Eagle Bay came today so I'm set for a few weeks.
Was actually fairly quick, I only ordered it on Sunday.
Rocky Ridge 'Rocka Block' stout and Boston Brewery 'The Right' brown ale (not a stout I know but a good 'wintery' beer) are both pretty decent and relatively readily available (at First Choice Liquor and Dan Murphy's respectively). I don't mind Coopers Extra Stout either for something a bit cheaper.

The Boston Brown is one of my favourite beers, always grab a carton when I'm down there or I see it.
Haven't tried the Rocky Ridge, will look out for it

Smack the floor with a broom handle.

I'm about 4 deep on my Eagle Bay Stout so win or lose I'll be drunk by the end of the game

I've got some serious imperial stouts and Baltic porters waiting for a reason to be opened.

Time to break out the sludge

Went outside to cuddle my dog Henry, legit managed to get his tongue into my mouth 3 times, went to brush my teeth, took 10 minutes to get the wax off this:
