Unsolved The Beaumont Children

The thing is, how do we know that the children those people saw with the man were actually the Beaumont children.
We don't, they could quite easily have been some innocent family playing.
I know that if that was the fact you would think those people would contact the police and say it was them playing under the sprinklers, but didn't say a word, or did and the police have never told us!

We really have no idea if the above 'leads' were authentic or relevant. Could've been any family really with remote resemblances, including my own family.

Let's not forget most households didn't have a phone then, including the Beaumonts themselves. My family of similar ages, vintage and socio-economic status didn't even have a car. Obviously no internet or mobiles.

The first my family knew of the disappearance was when a police car with a loud hailer passed our home at Henley South around 10pm, looking for the children. It was a "news flash" on TV later that night when most adults were asleep, being a work day next day. We didn't get a paper next morning until it was thrown on our lawn, or when we collected one from the newsagent.

Consequently, the huge majority of South Australians were unaware and/or unable to convey vital information in the first 24 hours, which Police all around the world believe to this day is a vital key to solving crimes of this nature. Police phones were jammed. Hundreds of 'witnesses' waiting in line at Glenelg Police Station were greeted by overworked, understaffed, frazzled officers who had no experience whatsoever in the disappearance of multiple children. The officers recorded everything by hand. Police switchboards relied on the ability of operators as young as 16 to filter and pass on calls.

So here we all are discussing (imo) useless clues over all these years such as bakery transactions on crowded days, pound notes, kids under sprinklers and witnesses sighting kids which could've been my/your family on the day. It could have been a country or interstate family, long gone.

Books are written and sold allegedly 'solving' the crime with no more evidence than we had in 1966. The first 24 hours of the abduction was the key and it was missed because we don't have the technology we have today. I don't believe this crime will ever be solved unless remains are found in a place which could be connected with an offender, certainly not HP imo.

And to top that off there are a handful potential suspects who all could have had the capability of being there and had form in similar cases.

I think I may have asked this before - can't remember - but does anyone know how old Dieter Pfennig was in 1966? I worked out he was 18 but not sure if that is correct.

18

By my calculations he was born in 1948, so would have been 17 or 18

Was he born in Australia? I'd assumed he'd migrated here due to having an acent?

I don't think Heinze was Louise's killer as per your link..
His penchant was grown women, and I would also have put him more in line for
the Murdoch/Falconio killer, his stats for the crime were much closer than Murdochs
stats, even down to the video of him in the service station and his car and dog.
Tues will correct me if i'm wrong!
I also don't believe he was/is a paedophile..

And how many people waiting at Glenelg (or other) police stations with potentially important information, or trying to get through on phone lines, gave up or had other family/work commitments, and possibly never came forward again? (Through no one's fault, as you say it was a different time, cruder technology and methods.)

Sadly, I think you're on the money with your entire post - unless any new physical evidence becomes available, it is all just conjecture.

I agree, I think they either got a legit lead and it got lost in the pile of other statements or the person went away without saying anything because of the crowds..

Did we ever find the name of the woman who was playing with the Beaumont children on the beach. The woman heard one of the children say the name of the person (adult) who they went off with. To me, that first name maybe vital information
I haven't heard of that before, there's another part of the mystery that wasn't disclosed!

I haven't heard of a woman with the kids on the beach before - how could people distinguish who was who on that really crowded and stinking hot day? You don't mean the woman who was apparently seen with...awww jeez! Can't remember... DENI....who was the guy who says he is a clairvoyant and his dad saw the kids on the side of the road with some bloke and a woman?

Scott Russell Hill Tues, his dad saw them with a woman and two men..
Scott was a psychic who had success with the tv show Sensing Murder.
Apparently he was one of the most successful psychic profilers in the world!
So if that's the case, why are we still looking for the children, if he was so good
why didn't he solve this LOL

He's on a good wicket, for a phone/zoom or skype 45 minute call it only cost $180 o_O

I wonder how long he sits there drumming his fingers on the table while staring at his phone...oh wait! He should know what time a call will come in... did his dad ever come forward at the time?
I don't know if his dad ever did or it was Scott everytime, for all we know Scott could have made it up!

I found the article regarding Scott.......why would 'other witnesses' confide to him and not cops?' the last section of this seems sus.

"Psychic detective and bestselling author Scott Russell Hill, 60, who was a childhood playmate of the Beaumont children said in 2018, “My father, who knew all the Beaumont family very well, was taking a shortcut to beat Australia Day traffic when he saw the children standing on the corner of Augusta and Durham Streets in Glenelg at 1.30 pm. They were with three other people – a thin-faced blond stranger, a male he recognised from one of the local racing stables with shoulder-length hair, and a middle-aged woman wearing a pale blue patterned dress. Dad was surprised they were with another woman, not their mother Nancy. He did report it to detectives at the time, but there were so many sightings not all of them were followed up. To his dying day in May 1982, my father swore black and blue it was the Beaumonts he had seen.” Hill was approached by several other people who confirmed his father’s eyewitness account, right down to the distinctive design on the unknown woman’s pale blue dress.

But why wasn't this investigated, plus the people that approached him?
Or was it investigated and nothing came of it.
Just the other day I read somewhere on the FB groups that it was looked into and found to be false.
They identified them and the children which weren't the Beaumont children!!

If that was the case why didn't we know about it, we've been in every Beaumont and Cold Case group over there, you and I have been doing this for years now, even when we got booted and banned from places because we didn't believe the McIntryers we still kept on going on new groups or on our own and we never heard a dicky bird..
I can't remember which group I read it in now, but i'm going to give it the good old Deni try and see if I can find it to see where the person that put it in got their information from..
Watch this space ;)

I'm now to the point that If a separate report isn't corroborated then you question veracity. There is nothing that I've found corroborates this. You also pose the question that they are missing AND the man they were with never came forward so suggests incrimination for the man not 3 people. Maybe I'm wrong but I've now discounted this without further evidence.

On the other hand I'm inclined to think the Ray Gunner Kelly article has a degree of credibility. Why?

Because he was involved in the search for a day and likely had inside information about "the man with the crazy walk" seen with kids late in the day before he was booted. Then you have link with AO case where a man with a stoop was identified as the abductor. Is that the crazy walk? Possible. I think this in some ways it retrospectively creates credibility to this article/ report as a leading clue.

On the AO thread I posted the video of the recent analysis talking about Brown and Hart. It had an video of Brown where I mention the time in which he appears on camera and there is something quite strange with his walk. My opinion. One of his legs he throws in a funny way. Real question mark about him but we have nothing to link him to Glenelg.

Is he someone of interest in the Beaumont case?

Nah I don't think so, he just gets a mention every now and then as being around and active at the time, similar to Anthony Munro.
