For those without a ticket who are looking for a venue Bloben and Quicky will be at the mountian view hotel in richmond. If you would like to join them it is likely to be very packed so get there early and let someone know.

After the game all at the game are encouraged to meet us for the victory march from the Fitzroy gardens Wellington st (across from the Hilton on the park) up to Federation Square. We will meet after the lap of honor etc which will probably be around 6:00-6:15 and wait for about 10 minutes and then leave walking up to Spring st to meet anyone who maybe interested in joining us from home. From there we will continue to walk up Federation square.

Those meeting please note not to stand on the footpath in the way where foot traffic will be high and finding people difficult. Also not that as the walk goes to Fed square those going to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl are welcome to tag along. Those wanting to drink there are multiple bars in the fed square region and according to the AFL site the players and cup of the winning team will be presented at Fed square.

Those wanting to escape the mayhem of the Fed square region for drinks are encouraged to go to The Lion Hotel Melbourne centeral for drinks there after that. We may from there end up heading back towards the vic park / collingwood area but that bridge will be crossed in a more spontanous manner.

For those not interested in the above plans many pubs have been recommended during our search

The Precint
The Cricketers Arms
The London Tavern
The Grace Hotel
The carringbush

Enjoy and go pies.

Good stuff ST, I'll be there.

I just rang CFC again, and they said they're still in talks about presenting at Fed Sq post-game should we win, and it will be confirmed at some stage today (they'll announce it on the website).

If it's approved, they'll be going to both Sidney Myer and Fed Sq.

I think it's an AFL obligation that the winning side, regardless of who that is, makes an appearance at fed square.
Collingwood has stated that they will send several players to fed square, but that the only place you can see the whole team is at the Music Bowl, which is just great for us attending the game, as by the time we leave the G, the Bowl will be full.

13,000 capacity, 55,000 members, hmm, can you do the maths.

55,000 members will not be attempting to go to the music bowl - Less than half will have any interest in that at all, and of those who attend for the game, some will leave afterwards.

I'll be at Fed square after the game to see the players that do go there. Dunno if I'll be able to do the whole walk and stuff cos I'll be with a few friends who will be deciding where we go and stuff, but if I do manage to see one or two of you guys there or on random walkings I'll wonder over yonder and join in a song and might hang around for a bit before heading off to Vic Park :)

Your Grand Final Day?

What are you doing on Grand Final day?

Planning on being up pretty early on Saturday. Get a big breaky into me. Watch some pies highlights before I get out the front door and head on over to the 'G'.

If there is a march from Westpac Centre to the 'G' I'll be on that bandwagon before the game.

Hoping to have bum on seat by the time the pre-match crap starts.

From 12 I'll have my routine headphone in one ear with the magpies radio on Triple M.

If we win... I'll look at those options pretty quick while finding out where to

a) celebrate
b) chant and march
c) drink myself stupid

What's the plan for everyone else?

Re: Your Grand Final Day?

Meeting my usual crew for a low (ish) key counter meal around midday over a couple of quiet ones to calm the nerves and then trek to the G.
Will then follow the a, b, c that you have outlined there. God the next 36 hours is going to drag!!!

Re: Your Grand Final Day?

Heading in from Adelaide Friday night, just got hooked up with two free nights at the hyatt, so pretty happy with that. Meeting up with friends at the ground at about 10am as we are getting our photos taKen for the Adelaide advertiser. then head in to stake out our standing room spots, and have a few warm up beers. After the game I'll prob head to this Sid Meyer thing to see the players

Re: Your Grand Final Day?

Head to a bar. Eat and drink. Either celebrate or rage hard. Eat a bit more, than drink away the night in either a shit or fantastic mood.

Re: Your Grand Final Day?

Get up at dawns crack and jump in the car to get from wagga down to melbourne. Park the car, give the Mrs a kiss and tell her I'll see her on Sunday!!! (she hasn't got a ticket, but i need someone to drive me home on Sunday :p).

No idea what I will do after the game, will go with the flow and see where the vibe takes me i guess - but hopefully will be in the mood to give the sauce bottle a fair shake.

Re: Your Grand Final Day?

I have really kept to myself this week, trying very hard not to get ahead of myself, so much so I have not even thought about what I am going to do on Saturday! One of my (stkilda) mates is having a barby but defs won't be watching gf with neutral supporters. I want to be with a shit load of collingwwood people, preferably drunk so I don't stand out... Are they screening the game at Vic park? If not I will prob end up watching it at home with just a few cclose mates

There is a march, starting at approximately 12.15pm, with Joffa and the cheer squad starting it, leading it to the forecourt outside the ponsford stand.

As for me, it's pretty simple at the moment;

Wake up early, catch the end of some of the GF marathon on Fox or Seven, and then get ready to leave for the G.

Probably leave around 12 or even earlier, and be into the MCG by train by about 12.45-1pm.

Watch the entertainment from either of the seats I will be swapping with my family (5 seats in M16, 1 in Q27) and then watch the game.

If we win, I have no idea, if my family wants to hang around, we may try and get into the bowl after Eddie said all members would get in (really?), or else leave the family behind and head into the city.

Will be a big day, one way or another.

I will be back on Sunday for the Music Bowl team presentation, win or lose also.

Solid. It's always a good way to go - see where the day takes you.
