Yeah we should get Enrique on the cheap considering he only has one year left on his contract. As for Aqua, I really want to keep him. He is a very creative player, he turned us around in the friendly against Valarenga. If we have to sell a CM, id rather sell Meireles.

Looks like Enrique is a done deal. So glad we got him instead of Clichy, definitely a class above. I really believe that we will push for top 2 if King Kenny lands either Samba or G Cahill. Good to hear that Cole is on his way out and Aqua is close to a Serie A return. Don't be fooled by pre season performances, they are meaningless games and he is only trying to put himself in the shop window.

We still need a LB, CB and probably another striker. But it seems like our shopping has dried up....

Agree, because skrtel has an injury im pretty sure we will get one of Scott Dann or Gary Cahill, Would prefer the latter..

I think that enrique is all but done which should solve our LB woes.

And for a back up striker i think we are linked with that asian striker. Park chu young is it?

We can manage without buying a new strikers, Kenny could blood Sterling this season. Sell Ngog leaving us with Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt & Sterling as strikers.

Sterling doesn't even turn 17 until December so I doubt that we'll be seeing too much of him this season, particularly since there are no Europa League games in which to blood youngsters. In any event, as far as I'm aware, he's not really an out-and-out striker.

I'd sell Ngog and replace him with another striker, ideally a proven goalscorer who can come in and make a difference straight away (as opposed to an unproven, developing youngster). This would give us Suarez, Carroll, this third striker and Kuyt who will probably play on the right but can fill in up front when needed.

LB and CB are bigger priorities though. Ideally, we wrap up the Enrique signing in the next couple of days and also one of Cahill/Dann and then worry about another striker.

Id love to see Sterling play some games this season, he will be one hell of a player but he isnt a striker. Plays more as a winger who can certainly cut inside and score goals. But he definitely isnt a striker.

depth of the squad is looking absoloutely strong at the moment nice sight to see.
if only aurelio would not be so injury prone terrific player when fit.
a couple of defenders should sign in the coming days leading up to the opener next weekend and we should be set to tackle the league.
Bring it on :thumbsu:

We're only keeping Fabio because of his experience. I don't expect him to play a large part this season.

Think we can do a deal with Bolton. They are interested in Ngog - we should offer them Ngog + Kyriagkos + Shelvey on loan for one season + 10 mill for Cahill. That's more then reasonable for both parties and Bolton get a direct replacement in Kyriagkos who is a solid player.

When does the window close?

We've already spend over 50 mil but I was hoping we'd bring in at least 1 more defender.

Doesn't it come in at around £40m?

LB we need to get sorted ASAP. Going into the season relying on Insua and an unproven kid could be a disaster.

I imagine we were waiting with the Dann transfer until the Ayala sale was sorted, so as not to risk going into the season too CB-heavy. We have a lot of them. Unfortunately only 2 (Skrtel, 1/2 Carragher because he's crap, and 1/2 Agger because his body is crap) of them are first teamers.

I also heard that enrique is all but done too, should be a handy player.

Would prefer cahill over dann but i think we will get the liverpool fan in dann!

Anyway somes stats on enrique:

Accurate crosses - Evra 17 - Enrique 31 - Baines 100 - Clichy 15 - Cole 20

Crossing Accuracy - Evra 18% - Enrique 23% - Baines 28% - Clichy 17% - Cole 20%

Succesful Dribbling last season - Evra 26 - Enrique 65 - Baines 26 - Clichy 21 - Cole 17

on 1, Enrique's very hard to beat. Happened only 9 times last season, compared to A. Cole (38), Clichy (26), Baines (24), Evra (23).

So will be a very good signing for 5-6m. Reports also that torres may miss the start of the season after being injured in the international friendly vs italy in which aquilani scored

Id welcome Enrique. Need a LB and perhaps another striker to help out Suarez and Carroll. NGog cant be our third option. I know we have Kuyt but we need more firepower. No idea how the season will go to be honest. I have faith in King Kenny but in not sold on our signings just yet. Im hoping for at least a top 4 finish. I think Arsenal are going backwards so I hope we at least replace them in the top 4.

Poulsen wants to stay apparently but he hasn't been told by the club what his future is. I'd assume that means we're trying to flog him off asap.

I still think Benayoun would have some value on the bench but he doesn't really fit in to how we're recruiting at the moment.

As for Dann vs Cahill. I don't think there's really that much difference in quality TBH. Dann is cheaper and a liverpool fan. Sign him up!
