I can recall creating a top 4 thread and also backing Buckley in along with Jmac all year last year... this board is full of Carlton supporters dressed in black and white. Pathetic
 
Apologies for at times accusing you of being tactically inept and being completely bereft of any coaching ability.

Speak for yourself mate. He said "wanted" which is past tense. Also I had us making top 8 this year. I didn't want Bucks gone but it'd be great if you go after assuming EVERYONE. Everyone. Didn't back us to make top 8 or wanted bucks gone.

Also before lock, lot of shit fans on this site over the years who have gently swanned in here around the win as though they didn't want Bucks gone. Easy to say you back a winner when the winning's easy. You back a man to win as a question of judgment, you take the slings and arrows, and when that's vindicated, you deserve some credit.

Buckley deserves no apologies - except from people who said he was shit THIS season. In previous years we WERE shit under his leadership. However, it was the previous lacklustre performances and subsequent critiques of said performances that led to the famous Review, which in turn led us to where we are now - which is going from 13th to a frikin prelim final baby!

I'm personally very happy that things ended up working out. And I won't feel bad for being unhappy and calling for change in years prior, especially when it was well warranted. Not going to pretend I was always on board with Bucks, and not going to call people out either. Just enjoying my team doing well, and really happy for all involved.
 
I am not apologising to anyone, I always backed him in. Now he has his team around him it was up to him to prove himself and he has.

If only you could have seen the players go up to him after the game, I have no doubt they play for each other and him.

Go Bucks, you deserve this as much as the players.

That's good. But unfortunately people's careers don't exist on up and down whims - against them when it doesn't work out, there when it does.

For someone to still be there to praise, you have to have faith in their capacities when the doubters crowd in. Buckley to me always had the capacity to be a great coach and good on the people who saw it and stuck by him through the hard times. True believers.

There is nothing to be gained from being so critical day on day in season, the playing/coaching list, and game plan was what it was nothing that we said on here was going to change that for the better, in actual fact we made it worse! What Buckley and the players went through the last couple of years in particular was incredibly unfair and the negativity propagated on here certainly didn’t help. I would say that we didn’t make finals in large part due to the negativity of our supporters, the papers print stuff that people want to read. This puts unneeded pressure and distraction on the playing list, our goal kicking is a perfect reflection of that.

The people critiquing largely don’t know much about football and sport in general, they look at the win/loss ledger and that is all they can understand. They get their opinions from media commentators, they are sheep.

If these naysayers had any clue about sport they would have seen plenty of positive signs coming through over the past couple of seasons. The team always tipped in for the coach, we were performing incredibly well given the injuries and especially given the poor management of the footy department.

Trust the system.

Nobody would have been more critical of the results than Buckley himself, you don’t need to go out and critique further. If he thinks he can’t get the team to play he will leave for the good of the side, he has integrity...

All the Carlton supporters on here have been proven wrong, infatically...you should all hang your heads in shame. We are part of the footy club believe it or not, and if you have ever been part of any team you don’t encourage performances by being unecessarily negative.

Stand by your team, learn from the mistakes you made and don’t let yourselves fall into the trap of working against your team. We are a family and we don’t have anybody else, we are COLLINGWOOD!
 
Apologies? Hmm, yes maybe for some of it. Most of the criticism was warranted. We were seeing problems and now he has rectified them. The rectification didn’t occur until this year mainly so I think a lot of the criticism of the game plan was warranted. Now, he gets the rewards for the rectification. Well done.

There are plenty of people accusing others of being a troll in this thread.
Calling for apologies or tagging someone back into the thread could be construed as similar.
Please refrain from doing it.
Win or lose on Friday this season has been a success and better than we anticipated.
Live in the moment and be happy.
