Not sure if this is the correct thread however i've seen that we've announced our AGM for Tuesday 22 February 2022 and with it there is a Director Election. As part of the voting, there are 4 candidates for election/re-election for 3 slots and i'm curious if anyone can shed any light on the 4th guy Bedri Sainovski? Seems like the club have endorsed him enough to be a candidate but don't recommend him.

There are three (3) positions available.
You must select up to three (3) candidates.

Bedri Sainovski
Greg Williams ✱
Luke Sayers ✱
Patty Kinnersly ✱

*Current director seeking re-election. The Board has endorsed each current director for re-election on the recommendation of the Independent Nominations Committee.

Board recommendation
Based on our interview, it is the opinion of the INC that Mr Sainovski does not have the necessary skill-sets or experience to make a significant contribution to the CFC Board and, consequently, we do not recommend him for election.
I'll take advice on this from anyone smarter than me. The queue forms on the right............:$

Sure, but is Frydenberg just a mate of Sayers, or does our board sit around and say "Let's pick the worst Federal Treasurer in the most corrupt government we've ever had as our number 1 guy - that'll endear us to our members"... seriously, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. We need to do better.

It has always been thus ... lower and middle class Carlton supporters just have to accept that our club's benefactors move in those circles. Given it's been like that as long as I've been alive (a long time), I can't see it changing any time soon.

Yes we have had a long association with Liberal party prime ministers with Sir Robert Menzies and Malcolm Fraser being the number 1 ticket holders.

Bit of luck Kooyong gives Joshy the boot in a few months and we can follow suit. Maybe replace him with Martin Pakula if we're so keen on politicians.

I would be surprised if the Libs ever lost Kooyong. Would have to be one of the safest blue seats in the country.

Unlikely, for sure. It definitely won't go Labor. But the indi has a decent chance. Enough of a chance that Josh is sweating over it.

Same here in Goldstein. Strong independent candidate. Incumbent is on the nose with voters. All comes down to whether the independents can get ahead of Labor when it comes down to Lib v Lab v Ind.

Anyway, prob getting a bit off-topic now. But would like to see #1 ticket go to someone other than a Lib politician (and I thought Big Mal was an excellent #1 choice in his time).

Classy post.
Let us eat oatcake!!!

From 7:40... Nothing real enlightening here (i.e. nothing we haven't discussed to death on this board)

Anyone know how we are tracking for 2022 memberships ?
Normally the club updates it on the club website each day or so.
There has been no updates this year. I heard recently from someone who rang the membership department about something else and they asked.
Apparently it was over 63,000 last week.
