That Eddie segment tonight showed why Eddie is loved by every true Collingwood fan, you couldn't wish for a better person to represent us as club president.:thumbsu:

For those of us that missed it, what happened with Eduardo?

Started with an amazing piece on his love for the Collingwood footy club. Memories of being a 5 year old walking with his dad to Vic Park. His love of Peter McKenna. Not being able to sleep before a game, his scarf wrapped up and ready to go.

His life as a journo. 1990. 2010.

He said something along the line of it doesn't matter what he does for the club, it will always be impossible for him to repay what it has given him. The highs and lows. The emotion. The release he gets at games.

I was touched with his childlike excitement on game day, driving to the G. Waving at a Collingwood father and soon walking to the ground. A cheeky comment about running over the umps.

Seeing him take his son to the game brought it all full circle - like his father did with him. He just loves taking his boys to the footy like all proud fathers.

Love Eddie. With him, we can only flourish.

So proud.

Floreat pica.

It was fantastic indeed...

I was cracking up when he was driving and he spots magpies flying around and is convinced it's a good omen and also the first people he sees wearing Coll jumpers:D I do that! I still do that LOL!

Thanks for that mate!

Thanks for that mate!
My pleasure mate!

The segment with Eddie has been one of the true highlights for this show for me. That and seeing Luke Ball. And many other times where the people they speak to truly explain what our club means to them!

Jump on our website and watch it or look for CollingwoodTV on youtube!

vjknight - have a look at some of the segments on our site or youtube mate some of it is sensational.

I've seen all of them this year, but was boarding a flight to London as the episode aired and the first posts about his segment came through so I definitely appreciate it. Since arriving all I've done is slept for 12 hrs (I don't know if it's best to watch it at 3:30am with others asleep) which is why the thanks took so long!

If I get a minute to myself over here I'll have to check it out!

When it comes to Collingwood, everyone must be awake and watch it :D

Seems like everyone enjoyed it as much as me, which means I wasn't just having a "moment" of love for the Maggies. o_O

Loved the Eddie segment, hope he has many more successful years left at the helm.

Also liked Daicos, any time watching his highlights is time well spent.

Look forward to tonight's episode.

Tonight's show will take supporters deep into the inner sanctum of the football club in what will truly be a stirring episode of The Club on FOX FOOTY at 9.30pm.

Follow suspended Collingwood skipper Nick Maxwell during Saturday night's semi-final win over the West Coast Eagles. Drive to the match with Maxy and see the game through his eyes as he speaks to teammates before the game, firing them up for the match.

Maxwell takes us back into the rooms at the half, when the club was down on the scoreboard, and motivates the players to play hard for another two quarters.

Maxwell sheds insight into what it takes to be the leader of the biggest club in the country and shows us firsthand the responsibilities he holds when he is not on the field.

In the final Vintage Collingwood of the year, Tony Shaw takes us down memory lane with legendary names including McKenna, Tuddenham, Richardson, Rocca and Carman.

the only good thing was the start then they did the advert bs.

mate I suggest you get over your angst towards the advertising bs cause it ain't gonna change unfortunately. I don't care much for the advertising also but take it for what it is I say.

The advertising helps to allow the show to be produced every week. Without it I'm sure we would be watching something that is far inferior to what we're watching at the moment.

Redeemed itself last night, though.

Close to the best episode.

I absolutely loved last night's episode :thumbsu: Getting a real insight into Maxwell the captain and Maxwell the person. I was glued to the tv watching Maxy go about his business. What a special leader he is around the club. We're so very fortunate to have him at Collingwood. You can just see that he is a true leader of men and his boys absolutely love and respect him and would do anything for him.

I can't even imagine how he was able to break the god awful news about Jmac to all the players and staff. It must've been incredibly difficult to do. He is so selfless and always putting the club and his team mates first, which was clearly demonstrated when he finally arrived home last Monday evening and it all just hit him like a ton of bricks. I think he is a wonderful captain and one of the best we've ever had at Collingwood.

Nick Maxwell constantly impresses as both a decent human being and an outstanding leader. I was excited to learn he was to be on The Club last night, and the segment didn't disappoint. We've all experienced the scepticism of fans of other clubs who just dont get why he's our captain. I feel sorry for them.

Last night pretty much summed up how good this bloke is. I get sick and tired of all the bashing he gets from opposition supporters. It obviously doesn't bother him based on the way he goes about his business.

Just so fortunate to have a leader of his qualities in charge!!!
