Re: Roo - People are trying to break us down.

Stop embarrassing yourself and admit St Kilda have a problem.

I'm fine with my club sport. They dealt with those 4 fools swiftly and appropriately. I have failth in the administration and coaching staff to get back on track quickly. All clubs have trangressions from time to time, and most clubs deal with it as best they can.

Even your mob ... Connors/Cousins ring a bell? Handled pretty well I thought.

Connors copped a 8 week suspension during the AFL season, 6 weeks suspension only for off season is piss weak.

"Richmond took action against Cousins, McGuane and Polo because they failed to handle the Connors situation."

They all got a week for failing to control a teammate on the grog. Now THATs accountability.

Re: Why the current Saints team will NOT win a premiership

Its not common practice to list a retired player. Its unheard of. StKilda didnt even do that for Aaron Hamill. They bumped him a year early when it was clear he was wasted.

I dont recall it ever happening before,

Funny you know SO much about Jarryd Allen but it seems you've never heard of Michael Voss. I guess you are not obsessed with Brisbane.

Any team still comprising Brendan Goddard, Nick Reiwoldt and Lenny Hayes is capable of winning a premiership.

They just need some refinement around the edges. Will still be very very competitive.

Re: Why the current Saints team will NOT win a premiership

Luke Ball has always been a gun. Ross Lyon couldn't see this. Mick Malthouse could. Now a premiership player..How's Armitage fairing ??? Did he play in the GF ??? Wasn't he the replacement for Luke ???

Re: Roo - People are trying to break us down.

Most clubs handle off field trouble very well. Including West Coast, Richmond and Collingwood. All you Saints fans think a 6 week ban is great. Are they going to miss any games ? Didak and Shaw missed half a season and all finals for being bad.

Tell Lyon and Riewoldt to shut their mouths and stop crying like it's not their fault. Poor Mick Malthouse had to apologise to Milne after Milne started it. Milne never apologised to Licca or Mick for his abuse. StKilda has many problems and they start at the very top.

Re: Roo - People are trying to break us down.

With what did or did not happen i think he is taking it a bit far suggesting some sort of conspiracy to take them down is going on.

Super star player but looks like he may need to adjust his foil hat
Too many government rays getting in .....

Re: Roo - People are trying to break us down.

Just saw the footage on ch10 of him speaking. What an arrogant twat. You'd think it was all lies and stuff being concocted to bring the Saints down. Look at yourselves before you fire shots at the outside.

Re: Why the current Saints team will NOT win a premiership

There was no cap room for Ball once they recruited Lovett, who they paid a small fortune and presumably are still having to cover in their salary cap. StKilda didnt have a cent of spare salary cap. Its part of the reason they rejected Wellingham and Goldsack - in fact its likely that its ALL of the reason. They had spent all their spare money on Lovett plus a few other recycled players.

None again Timmy, I'm genuinely surprised

Though it does put perspective on most of your other unsubstantiated claims.

I dont like to deal in rumours!!;)

Just KS ones :thumbsu:

Re: Why the current Saints team will NOT win a premiership

Doesnt matter which list, the salary cap principles are the same. Theres no reason to have a retired player on your list unless you have run out of cap room to pay him out and replace him with somebody with two arms and two legs.

Blair wasnt on the main list either

^^^^^^^^^^^ looks like I'm quoting myself again, but then again I don't find quoting correctly difficult ;)

This list?

1. Bennell, John
2. Blair, Jarryd
3. Dyas, Kevin
4. Francis, Tristan
5. Keeffe, Lachlan
6. Reed, Scott
7. Thoolen, Toby

I reckon you could have spared one.

but his premiership medal looks just the same as his teammates medals. Some clubs use their rookie list to develop premiership champions, and some clubs use their rookie list as a dumping grounds for players they'd like to get rid of but are forced to keep for another year.

Part 34

Collingwood's list management was correct as they won the flag, St kilda's was not as they did not.

KS fan boy, it's an amazing ability to repeat the same point over & over

Re: Roo - People are trying to break us down.

apparently members at the AGM took them on over the Ball stuff up! haha

yep they did. News didn't televise the response.

All of the above had more potential than a player who had retired. Even I had more potential than a player who had retired!

Its a numbers game. The number of premiership players we promoted through the rookie list was very high. Dont try and show me a list of our failed rookies, because history will show that we have managed that list extremely well. We certainly never listed a player who wasnt even going to make it to training.

Keefe and Reed are still on the list, btw, and Keefe especially we hold high hopes for.

I've made tons of comments about Voss and Brisbanes dreadful trading and drafting. The only difference is that I dont get as much push-back from Lions fans because they are more pragmatic and they admit their club has botched it.

Timmy you also rattled of Blight as one of the young guns Collingwood had in waiting. He was delisted at seasons end. Your judgement counts for little to nothing.

Dont recall saying that - I'll take your word for it - but its a numbers game. I dont proclaim to be an expert on all our younger players. I leave that to Derek Hine. He is the man. I'd rather my club invest in a Blight or a Josh Thomas or a Rounds than in a Jesse Smith or a Pattison or a Lovett.

Blight quit the club, by the way. He wasnt sacked. Like Gaertner for StKilda, he just gave it away. It happens to most clubs. The difference of course was that in Collingwoods case Blight left BEFORE draft cutoff date so they were able to draft another player, whilst in StKildas case he left AFTER cutoff, so once again StKilda enter the season without a full list. They are a rabble.
