2098 supercoach this week, was a bad one though.
I made the mistake of taking the captaincy off Ablett (first time in 3 years) because Crowley usually beats him and giving it to Goddard (usually gives it to us) and it cost me 80 or so. Also the Shaw and Spike outs hurt (although Maguire and Martin weren't bad as back up).
My duds this week were Kruezer, Clarke (again), Barlow (slowed down after his rib knock), Waite and Hitchcock. So wrapped I started the season with Malceski and Waters over Kennelly and (someone else).

I have to make a trade and want to get some opinions.

I want to trade out an injured Dangerfield and have a bit of cash free. My thoughts at this stage is Rioli at 417 or Brennan at 474.

Re: Dreamteam Query

Just a quick question, i have found someone else playing dream team and want to play against them, can i still create a league which we will both join?

i think its too late now.

But I would pose this question on the Dream Team Board as opposed to this board.

League matches started Round 4, they can only make a team and compete for weekly prizes now from my knowledge.

Re: Dreamteam Query

Quick question. Where has Dale Thomas's DT improvement come from? Bigger engine? Different role? Hair cut? Just trying to work out if the improvement will continue...

Cheers in advance.

Actually I think you can. There are others like you who are entering late and I think they can auto-generate oppositions to populate your comp.

A combination of:

1) Greater consistency over four quarters
2) Playing in the midfield more often (less defensive jobs ala last year)
3) Improvement in our midfield from Ball and Wellingham
4) Playing smarter - doesn't run around like a headless chook so much anymore. He used to expend unnecessary energy and get knackered.

I had him in both of mine and had some spare cash to. I already had Rioli. He could be worth a shot.

In supercoach I got Trav Cloke, starting to find some form. In Dreamteam I got Dale Thomas. Pretty cheap with a good average.

Stupid Geelong resting stupid Ablett FFS!!!

I had literally just used both trades this afternoon to bring in Davis for Hunt and upgrade Bastinac to Judd. Problem is that I have both Martin and Moles on the bench who are not in the team. It was a bit of a gamble however was happy with my team. Now I'm going to have one short!!!! Arrrghghg

I'm missing Mitchell, Martin, Shuey and Colyer from my midfield. That's okay though because I'm slowly building my beastie up.

Bought Didak in for Dangerfield and Phil Davis for Mitch Farmer. Gonna palm off Hunt next week for a Brad Sheppard type, then maybe Shuey / Colyer plus cash for the Shabbois. Will then have Shablett, Swan, Gibbs, Mitchell, Vince and Barlow. Mwah, ha ha HA.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Nearly every side will have Ablett. Choose your captain carefully, it could be the difference between winning and losing.

Not even half the sides have Ablett in dreamteam, and just over half have him in Supercoach

Im happy with my team now, traded Nason for Davis and upgraded Shuey for Hayes.

My Defence and Midfield (Swan, Bartel, Hayes, Pendlebury, Lewis and Barlow) are very solid. Tippet in the ruck is killing me but the signs are better.

My forwards are killing me however, Pods, Mayne and Gumby all starting for my team, hoping next week to upgrade one of them to Didak...

I've been licking my lips at the prospect of bringing in Leon Davis, he's had a significant drop in price and proved last year that he can be a very good DTeamer, this combined with his D/P status makes him a tasty proposition.

Is his poor scores in relation to less time in the midfield due to wellingham's significant improvements? or has he had a poor preseason? Has he gone back to the up and down footballer we once knew?

Thanks guys.

Kind regards

He doesn't look like he is moving as freely as last year but he is still working really hard off the ball but it isn't playing good fantasy football.

He is playing far deeper in the forward line so he isn't going to get as many touches as last year.

A couple of weeks and he could be rock bottom price and tempting but since he's breakeven is still very high (190) I would be waiting before bringing him in.

Yeah, I reckon you'll see him drop another 50k at least over the next couple of weeks.
Also a major factor to consider with Leon is the (probable) return of Brad Dick. This would release Leon further up the field and he would get a lot more ball. Currently he might chip in for 15 touches and 2 goals tops, which is hardly elite supercoach material.

Wouldn't be relying on him to score as an on the ground player, and too much money tied up if on the bench. I'd be trading him.

He's sitting on my bench out of respect for his scoring last year but is quickly losing favour. Love the little tenacious player but the Pies list is too strong for him I think at this stage.
