How are the first 3 restrictions when they're imposed on everyone.

Zoning is the only reason this thread exists.

That's a fair call. Geelong had an amazing run in the era of the AFL, not te old poxy VFL era, which gifted clubs like Hawthorn some success due to zones and rorting the system with paper bags filled with money etc.

Lets face it Geelong, Brisbane and the Swans are the three pillars of great AFL Era football. The 21st century would be a footballing wasteland without us.

Two unconvincing flags in a decade makes you a pillar of modern football?

That's not even taking into consideration the headstart the AFL gives you, like the parent who handicaps all the other kids in a potato sack race, all so their incapable child can actually win something for a change

Franklin and Roughead, yes. You got Ablett, Scarlett and Hawkins from father-son. Fair to say you did OK from obscure rules.

Other than that, we traded our way to success. Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis, Gibson, Burgoyne, Guerra, Lake, Gunston - we're just awesome at getting the players we need.
