A prediction from 1970 Crow from another thread that I reckon is noteworthy. Quote:

'I'm getting more convinced that Thommo will start on the bench and be one of the the lesser mids in terms of minutes. We need to prepare our younger guys for next year and we want Thommo fighting fit and fresh in at least the 18 games he needs to get to 300. Calling it confidently now.'

That is accurate and I stand by that prediction.

Here's one from Wright Away worth placing on this thread...to be revisited at end of season. Love the confidence and hope you're right....

Crows will make top 4 in 2016, bookmark it.
I'm enjoying laughing at the garbage on the mainboard. This club made a semi final in the worst circumstances for any team in modern football, i mean beside from half the side getting suspended. It honestly seems like people have forgotten that the Crows went on to make a semi final after our head coach was murdered ffs. There is nothing the Crows cannot achieve and I look forward to the Crows proving the doubters wrong and in particular wiping that smug narcissistic campaigner smile off Patrick Dangerfield's face while he is ridden into the dirt as his new club goes down by 10 goals.

makes a fair bit of sense though

I have another outlandish claim, now that thommo is once again the midfield general - I think he'll finish top 3 in the brownlow

Coupla predictions that are polar opposites that deserve to be deposited here and revisited at the bye.

1980 Crow:
North Melbourne W
Port Adelaide W
Richmond W
Sydney Swans W
Hawthorn L
Fremantle W
Western Bulldogs W
Geelong Cats W
Gold Coast Suns W
Giants W
St Kilda W
West Coast Eagles L
BYE
Would be a good start the 2016 and i dont see how we couldnt win those games and depending how we are going hawks are not out of the question to chalk up a win. The hardest game i see is west coast at domain!

10--2 :)

And Jack is Back:
Is this thread a troll???????????? 10-2, tell em their dreamin.

1) There are 11 teams currently ranked above us to make the eight.
2) From our last match in 2015 we have lost Dangerfield and gained Seedsmen, Hampton, Menzel, Milera, Doedee. None of these players are certainties in our best 22 at this stage.
3) Brad Crouch is doubtful for round 1, as is Henderson, Knight and Cameron.

There are good reasons why we will go into most if not all of our first 9 games as the underdog.

Kangaroos at Etihad - L (Our home form against the Kangas is good, our away form average. Only win in recent years has been a last kick fluke at Etihad.)
Port Pear at A.O. - L (We have lost the first showdown of the season for the last three years. They are tipped to be in the top four.)
Richmond at Etihad - L (Finished above us last year. We are almost 50/50 due to the game being at Etihad but we lost to them at Etihad last time).
Sydney at A.O. - L (They've owned us both home and away in recent years).
Hawthorn at MCG - L (Did you see the 2015 Semi-final/)
Freo at A.O. - L (refer to Sydney comment).
Bulldogs at Etihad - L (mauled us at Etihad last year).
Geelong at A.O. - L (Too good for us at last 2 meetings which were at Geelong without the greatest AFL player of all time).
Suns at Metricon - W (Will not be easy and they may go in as favourites)
GWS Giants at A.O. - W (They did beat us the last time we played them)
St Kilda at A.O. - W (Should be an easy win provided we arn't 0-10 at this stage)
West Coast at Domain - L (would be a huge win)

It is much more likely to be 2-10 than 10-2. I would take 6-6 in the blink of an eye.

My prediction is for Paddy Tratorfield to do a knee before the bye

This is a pretty callous prediction to make. Lets not speak of any knee injuries to former Crows players unless they are Kurt Tippett. ;)

I'm surprised Danger isn't more injury prone considering the style of footy he plays though.

I actually felt he was like that even when he was with us. There is no other current Crows player that I feel that acts that way either, even if they had to leave at the end of this year.

I have never viewed Ablett or Fyfe ever as narcissistic either, very humble human beings given when they are at their peak there is daylight between them and the next level of a player. I used to also cringe when Danger did media interviews for us given his attempt at humour in every instance.

I've not quoted a post of my own before AFASIR, however, I feel an overwhelming urge to re-post this part of a post from last Thursday in the pre-season thread:

Coupla things...while McGoven didn't show a lot in limited TOG in the 2ndee, just maybe he's shown enough on the track to convince Don and co that he's a future star. Maybe they want to have a good look this weekend and give him more minutes to show what he can do.

This is the bigest call of the year so far and deserves pride of place here.
Definitely worth a revisit after the home and awayers.

Funny seeing you boys up and about after beating norfs vfl side. I dont have adelaide finishing in the 8 so i dont think you will be seeing us in finals for a while.

Maybe 1980 Crow and J is B want to comment on their predictions up to the bye? Neither was right, but one was a whole lot more right than the other, and it's pleasing that it was the right one.

Take a bow Write Away. Your humongous prediction of top 4 will be a reality. :thumbsu::thumbsu:
Now let's hope your final prediction comes true and it's us that delivers the 10-goal belting.

This belongs here....From Rotajay...

Going to make a few calls from now:

- GWS are basically locked into the grand final. It's about who they play.
- If they meet Geelong, the Cats will win.
- If they meet Sydney, it's 50/50 but I think the Giants will win.
- If they meet the Crows, the Crows will win.
