I was definitely peeved when we offloaded Moloney, while he was on holidays, for Ottens.
Clearly, we won there, but I did not like it early on.
There's a lesson for all there, given the instantaneous judgements of trades, it depends on what the club does with what we trade in. the Stanley trade is one that was appearing a loss at first but may not be in a couple years time.

And to be fair, I currently have Lonergan, Enright, and Bartel wrong with regards to 2016.

I thought it was probably time for them to move on.
I hope Scott nails their resting this year.

You were still getting over Mark 'Jacko' Jackson?? :D
Didn't mind some of Jacko. Saw him and GAS beat Hawthorn, 6 goals each- had never seen GAS before that game, living in NZ for some years.
Spriggs looked good year 1, and had shocking disposal, which we excused because he was a kid, but, if anything, he deteriorated.

He did.

Jacko, on his day, added something, but.......

Remember Gary Sidebottom?

Of course.
The infamous Carlton final, Peter Johnson having to step in for him, after a few smokes, a pie, and a choc Big M;
no way that could happen in 2016.
Tbh, GS did very little for us in his brief tenure at Catland.

Hmm. This thread is a struggle for me as I'm rarely wrong. Just being honest. If I go back in distant time I can find a couple:

thought Scarlett was a dud in his first couple of seasons and that Simpson was a better option at full back. Woops.

Thought chapman would just be another David calthorpe mark 2.

Thought D.Simpson would be a gun if he could get fit. Actually scratch that he never did get fit.

I rated gamble and Street although never became certain they would make it.

Sorry I can't contribute anything else. It's all I have.

Very little. Played very few games.

Brian Peake was one I thought we could build around, but it just never happened.....

A shame there's not a more notable example from you...

big surprise :). I've never said he would never make it so didn't think it was worth putting in. Have always said I thought he needed more time and wasn't as good as everyone says he is and that last point still holds true. Doesn't mean I don't think he will be a good footballer.

He is a very good footballer already, with lots of upside.
Doesn't really matter when you end up rating him, good thing is he is ours, and with Stanley, and Smith, we have a uniquely mobile ruck setup. Love it.

I thought we needed a complete rebuild after the 2010 prelim.

You not the only one. While not necessarily going the full rebuild, I remember the train trip back to Geelong that night and talking to other frustrated Cats fans and I know I raised the following point
- need to retire veterans like Corey and Milburn as the game has passed them

But I do stand by my comments where I questioned why Menzel was dropped from the team for finals having played the final 3 games of the h&a season.

Cant understand this at all mate, id rank Blitz in our top 5 most valuable. He is learning at an enormous rate and must give oppositions a head ache. Started at 4 centre bounces against Port yet still finds the ball regardless, his third man up is the best in this biz.
