So what should our response be Toad? "Oh,we had an off day.It doesn't matter,we were bound to lose one sooner or later"
Sounds better than cutting half the team on the back of one performance.

Fcuk mate we could've been 2 points behind the Filth if we'd won!!
On a technicality - Collingwood have already had their two byes. Please educate yourself before posting.

Even Ratten said we didn't have the same appetite for the contest!
I dont think thats acceptable! WCE came to play and we didn't.No one is disowning the club they still have my full support, but performances like that are crap, considering how good we've been.

Yeah, pretty much.

Consider the collective attitude at the start of the season. No Kruezer; Laidler, Curnow and Duigan strange newbies, Walker up forward, not much confidence in Hammer, Hendo or o'hAilpin, Robbo just some random psycho good for laughs, Thornton and Bower gone, Jammo just going, McLean the greatest trade bungle of modern football and Ratts to make way for Malthouse or Roos.

I'm pretty sure we were just thinking we'd be happy with fifth or sixth on the ladder going into the finals with the ambition of winning 'just one more'.

Then after our remarkable season that proved all of us wrong and gave us reason to get a little confident again, I imagine you were thinking that with all our depth how can we possibly lose against anyone other than Collingwood or Geelong, even without Waite, Robbo, Hammer, Laidler, Curnow, Duigan, o'hAilpin and Bower.

Yeah, we weren't flying high against WC, but we had a pretty good go with what we had against a team that played with incendiary form on the day.

So, yeah, with all the injuries and a flattening off after the Sydney game, we had a bad day and we were bound to lose one sooner or later. I'll take that.

however what hurt us also was the eagles seemed to be at the fall of every drop or in the right position for a spill every time, this has alot to do with good positioning but alot to do with luck as well, off hands they were getting everything!!! I remember commenting during the second quarter that we were not getting any spills or favorable bounces at all, maybe this was due to a lack of intensity but some of the bounces and lucky positioning off hands really cost us on the rebound at times..

you make your own luck by hard running.

if you have more numbers at the contest because your team mates ran hard you will find the ball bounces your way more often than not.

we just didn't run hard enough.
